I made my first medicine drum in 2018.

And it’s almost funny to say this now…
but at first, I didn’t feel the magic everyone talks about.

I wanted to connect instantly — to feel something ancient awaken in me —
but instead I felt awkward.
Uncertain.
Like I was holding a language I hadn’t learned yet.

So I kept it close,
I used it gently, cautiously…
as if I was borrowing it rather than belonging with it.

But life has a way of shaping you.

And without me realising, the drum began shaping me too.
Not through force — through presence.

It was there as I grew quieter.
As my nervous system softened.
As my work deepened.
As my voice returned.
As I stopped performing healing and started embodying it.

One day I noticed…
when the drum sounded,
something inside people settled.
Their breath dropped.
Their gaze softened.
Their bodies remembered they were safe.

And that’s when I understood:

This drum isn’t just an instrument.
It’s a bridge.
A vibration that carries prayers without needing words.

It holds resonance now — not because it changed…
but because I did.

And every time I play it, it reminds us all.,
we are remembering the first heart beat,
The beginning of life ~ return to our hearts song,
Home in our body
