Cold mornings + rain + ADHD = my brain negotiating HARD with getting out of bed today!

But we made it. Tea in hand, heading into my office, and reminding myself that sometimes the win is simply showing up.

To everyone else dragging themselves into the day today, I hope you have a gentle, good day.

I’m curious though… what’s your morning routine like?
Are you a snooze-button person, a chaos gremlin, or one of those suspiciously organised morning humans?

Small things, big joy.

Today I’ve got a baby mango and my bright orange top and I’m reminded how the little things can completely shift a day.

What’s bringing you joy today? And what’s one thing you’ll do today just for you?

Thanks for the joy

Some struggles don’t look obvious from the outside.
The relationship tension.
The overwhelm.
The emotional exhaustion.
The constant feeling of trying to hold everything together.
Whether you’re navigating ADHD, relationship challenges, separation, burnout, or just life feeling heavier than it should, you don’t have to do it alone.
I offer a warm, practical and non-judgemental space to help people feel understood, supported, and more connected to themselves and the people around them.

My husband said he was ‘just building a small chicken coop’… now we have blueprints, power tools everywhere, 14 trips to the hardware store, and he’s explaining roof pitch to strangers. ADHD hyperfocus is undefeated 🐔🔨😂”

Sitting still isn’t actually “still” for ADHD. An ADHD brain focuses better when the body is allowed to move, so having something soft, fidgety, or sensory in the hands helps to regulate and pay attention. It’s not a distraction, it’s what makes focus possible.

Sometimes ADHD affects the whole family, not just the person with the diagnosis.
The partner may be carrying mental load, frustration and exhaustion.
The ADHD partner may be carrying shame, overwhelm and the constant feeling of failing.
And an AuDHD child may be trying to manage a nervous system that feels overloaded by the world around them.

None of that makes anyone “bad”.
But it can make family life really hard sometimes.

What changed things for us wasn’t perfection.
It was understanding what was actually happening underneath the behaviours,
and learning how to support each other with more compassion.

ADHD relationships often struggle when couples keep trying to force each other to function the same way.
But healthier relationships usually come from understanding:
different brains may need different supports.
That can look like:
• planning important conversations before overwhelm hits
• using reminders and systems instead of relying on memory alone
• being honest about capacity before resentment builds
• learning how rejection sensitivity shows up in conflict
• separating the person from the ADHD symptoms
• sharing the mental load in ways that feel fair — not necessarily equal
• repairing after conflict instead of staying stuck in blame
• learning each other’s triggers instead of weaponising them
Most couples don’t need perfection.
They need understanding, accountability, communication,
and the feeling that they’re on the same team again.
