Our Mission: To eliminate the cognitive bias toward violence in order to bring peaceful solutions to our next two generations.
We began from a place of looking at the world, the damage we, as a human family are causing, the chaos, the violence, the fast paced dopamine overdosed world of digital and we are seeing our kids (our future caretakers of this planet) being handed all of this. When you take a look at the world it can be overwhelming to try and figure out where does one start with undoing this mess we created?
Our answer was with children, aligning this with our love of neuroscience and the proven outcomes of early intervention. This formed the basis of The Emotional Literacy and Mindfulness Academy for Kids. Specifically focusing on ages 5 - 9 as the key developmental phase where we can make the biggest impact and imprint them with essential life skills and behaviours that assist them later in life, which in turn, will assist our home that is crying out for our help....our planet earth.
If we can work with children to learn advanced skills in emotional literacy and the science of mindfulness, and do this in a really fun and easy way for them to understand, then our belief is that this story could have a happy ending. (within 2 generations)
We come from a place that truly cares about the impact that we are leaving on this planet, we have a duty of care to our next generation to prepare them, support them and give them all the tools we know to assist them in their journey towards a more peaceful planet.
Our founder, Tenille Bentley, is an internationally award winning educator, sound therapist and international author of two thought provoking books “Digital Consciousness and Emotional literacy for kids”.
The concept of the academy was born from her last company, which saw her build a multi million dollar social media agency in under two years. She began witnessing the impact that digital was having on our next generation and she was able to see the prodigious impact of this if we are not prepared for it. Whilst honouring that this is the world this current generation are born into, she saw a need for balance to support a hard wired generation that is currently destined for more cases of depression, mental illness and behavioural issues as a direct result of the intake of digital and other environmental components. The second part to this vision was a deeper heart based driver, having been exposed to trauma and violence from a young age and in her adult years, she was at a loss as to how to bring peace to the planet, for that is all she yearned for herself, after building a global charity that provided programs and solutions to women and children from disenfranchised homes reaching over 4 countries and 30K children, she realised this wasn't necessarily getting to the core of the vision, which was bringing about a more peaceful home for us all to share. She knew it had to come from another angle, meeting peace with peaceful strategies, science based, effective and efficient with a focus on the internal compass of us all. This is where our company mission was born - which was to eliminate the cognitive bias toward violence in order to bring peaceful solutions to our next two generations.
Our founder is a well established business leader who has been recognised by the Australian Prime Minister with ‘The Australian Leadership Award’ which is only presented to 20 people in Australia, awarded the ‘Australian Financial Review Top 100 Australia’s Women of Influence’, State Finalist in the ‘Telstra Business Woman of the Year’ and inducted into the Western Australian Women’s Hall of Fame by The Governor. She is also a credited and experienced board director.

A little more about the academy
The Emotional Literacy and Mindfulness Academy is a place where kids learn about their emotional grid system, how to manage it, they learn to meditate and apply practical tools of application in the real world using mindfulness techniques to arm them with the capacity to unplug in a plugged in world.
We are a program provider for children aged 4/5 to 8/9 years old. The program developed has been tested over many years amongst numerous children and throughout a variety of age brackets. This program invites children to learn about their emotional grid system, how to manage it, meditation, mindfulness and the practical tools of application in the real world using proven techniques to arm them with the ability to deal with life experiences with emotional maturity and self regulation. The literacy program is built around two characters ‘Jazzy and Pinky’, two little chickens from a chicken school, they invite kids on an adventure with their energy ball to support them in the important development of emotional intelligence awareness through a simple and fun program.
