“Is this ADHD… or just pregnancy?” has become a regular internal broadcast over here, and honestly, half the time I still don’t know the answer!

This season has been full of joy, exhaustion, plot twists, medication changes, meltdowns over broken toast, hyperfocus baby prep, and a whole lot of deep breaths. Being pregnant while neurodivergent is… a journey. A very wiggly, emotional, hilarious, tender journey.

So I wrote a blog about it! The real stuff, the messy stuff, the ‘is this normal?’ moments, and the parts no one tells you about. If you’re navigating pregnancy with a neurodivergent brain too, I hope this one makes you feel seen.

You’re not alone. You’re not failing. Your brain and your body are doing so much at the same time... and you’re doing beautifully.

"This was such a valuable workshop. For me it acted as a space for self reflection - recapping what I've learned, and reinforcing what I need to get back to doing. It's easy to drift or plateau in recovery, and this session helped wake me a little. I'm so grateful. This was valuable to me as someone who is already familiar with the concepts discussed, but I also feel it would be equally if not more valuable for someone who is newer on their trauma recovery journey, or for those who are supporting someone. I really like how it intertwined lived experience with science. It felt both informative, digestible and applicable at the same time. Thank you."

🌿 Mindfulness Made Real – Meet Your Facilitators!

Mindfulness isn’t about sitting cross-legged for hours or chasing perfection—it’s about learning to come back to yourself, one breath at a time. At Peer Practice, we know what it’s like to have a “busy brain” or feel like there’s never enough time. Our team has lived it, and we’re here to share what’s worked for us in real life—not just theory!

That’s why we’re so excited to introduce Jaan and Carol, your facilitators for our Mindfulness Workshop in North Perth:

✨ Jaan
Born in Penang and raised on Christmas Island, Jaan has called Perth home since 2000. His curiosity about life and mental health stems from lived experience and a deep belief that exploring psychology, philosophy, and spirituality can lead to true peace and contentment. He’s passionate about helping others find clarity and calm.

✨ Carol
Originally from Scotland, Carol has spent over 30 years in Australia, building a life rooted in connection and care. With six years as a Peer Support Worker and seven years volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, Carol knows the power of conversation and shared understanding. Meditation is her anchor, and she loves guiding others toward balance.
