Shh 🤫 don’t tell anyone…

This is the number one thing I see going wrong in peoples recovery process.

Pain is part of the story, but it isn’t the whole story. It’s a warning light for when something isn’t quite right, and it’s worth paying attention to - but the absence of it doesn’t mean you are back to 100%.

So if this cycle resonates with you - shoot me a DM and let’s figure out what the rest of your recovery should look like.

Pain relief matter…

But when the plan stops with that, the same cycle tends to continue. Flare up - settle - flare up - and so it goes.

Relief - rebuild - resilience.

For the TLDR version read below:

Spine holds connection from brain to body. Spine working well means connection works well, meaning function is high. Spine stops working well, connection gets worse, this is bad. Pain can occur, function declines.

Our job - find areas of issue in spine, get areas working well again and see both pain and performance recover.

What this looks like and means for each person is the real magic - this is the stuff that really matters. The science are cool, but when it translates to a difference in someone’s life… that’s really cool.

Good thing I got adjusted recently, otherwise I may not have reacted in time…

Bit of behind the scenes as to the dangers of chiropractic practice.

🙋‍♂️ I got a nasty headache this week…

Not one that’s overly concerning, just one of those “makes the rest of the day a chore” types.

And my first instinct, like every other human, was to ask what caused it? I couldn’t find a reason, and that was frustrating.

But I reminded myself how important it is to look back at the days prior to the flare up - at what could have been accumulating that led to this issue - and for me that was a few consecutive days of crap sleep.

So when that familiar ni**le hits again, try to avoid the temptation of blaming one big event, and instead find the patterns in the smaller things - then adjust from there.

For all my “tired but wired” people out there—
the answer isn’t to push harder.

It’s to understand why your body can’t switch gears.

We’re built to adapt fast.
Fire up when needed.
Calm down when it’s time to recover.

If that gear shift is slow,
life starts to feel harder than it should.

Your body runs on patterns more than you realise…

The time you wake up? Pattern
The times you get hungry? Pattern
The way you deal with pain? Pattern

In your 20’s you have a unique opportunity to forge your own patterns that will either serve you and hinder you in the future.

So when it comes to dealing with your bodies pain and performance, choose to learn the right patterns now and watch the rewards flow in due time.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

Pillows cop way too much blame.

Bad sleep? Probably your pillows fault.
Sore neck when you wake up? Pillow for sure.
Milk gone off in the fridge? Yep, that’s the pillow.

A good pillow is fantastic for your neck, and your sleep too, but it’ll be worth nothing if you don’t tidy up what you do before you go to sleep.

If you’re sick of waking up with a sore neck - try simply keeping the phone out of your bed, dimming the lights at night an hour before sleeping and reading/stretching for 10 minutes before getting into bed. If that fails, maybe it is time for a new pillow 🤷‍♂️
