👽💛 Highway Heroes Feelings Check-In! 💛👽

In our Highway Heroes sessions this term, we’re learning all about checking in with our feelings — and we have a special visitor helping us out! 🪐

Each session, the children get to “feed the alien” with feelings — happy, sad, worried, excited — helping them recognise and check-in with emotions in a fun, engaging way. 🌈✨

Our little alien friend still needs a name, and we’d love your help! 🤔Drop your ideas below — what should we call our feelings alien? 💭👽

Join us as we get ready to celebrate the incredible work of Occupational Therapists — the everyday heroes who help people of all ages build confidence, independence, and joy in their daily lives. 🌟

This year’s theme celebrates the power of participation and possibility, reminding us that with the right support, everyone can achieve meaningful goals. 🙌

Meet the team👋

Introducing you to one of our superstar OT's - Leilani or as we all know her as, Lani🌟

Lani's favourite part about being an OT is being able to help people everyday (and never sitting at a desk). Specifically, working as a paediatric OT means she can spend her days playing and finding ways to make therapy fun for her kids!

Her favourite thing about Gymworks is that it is always a surprise seeing what the gym looks like each week - that is very exciting for both the kids and the therapists. Lani's favourite activity is definitely the flying fox!

When not at Gymworks you will find Lani walking her dog, Teddy, playing netball, reading books or out at her favourite breakfast spots.

🥳Term 3 Holiday Program 🥳

🗓️DATES: Monday 30th September- Friday 4th October, 2024
🕰️SESSION TIMES: 8:30am – 12:00pm
📍LOCATION: 1/100 Walters Drive, Osborne Park
💲COST: $140 per session (a higher fee may apply for 1:1, if there is capacity to provide this)
👧🏻🧑🏽AGES: Kindy – Year 6 (groups formed pending enrolment numbers for each age)

👋 MEET KATE 👋

With only 3 more weeks of our Term 2 program, we thought we’d better introduce you to another OT star among many, Kate Jeffery. ⭐️

👦🧒 Kate’s favourite part about being an OT is working with her clients. She says the kids she sees on a weekly basis, never fail to put a smile on her face. For her, seeing them achieve things that they previously found difficult is so rewarding.

💪👋Just like many of the kids, Kate’s favourite activities at Gymworks OT are the flying fox and theraputty. She believes that both bring so much joy and they especially love finding what's hidden inside the putty all whilst developing their hand strength.

🌊🧘‍♀️In her spare time, you'll find her at the beach, doing pilates, watching Netflix, eating dinner with friends, or even flying back home to Victoria or QLD to see her family and friends.

We hope you all enjoy the remainder of Term 2 program and we look forward to seeing you back for Term 3!
