We had such a wonderful experiencing facilitating the trauma-informed care and practice training in Boorloo/Perth in November, and it’s so heartwarming and humbling to see the feedback and testimonials from our participants. Hearing how this experiential training has moved them and ignited a desire to take this work out to the world is why we do this work

Your next opportunity to train with us is this February 7th and 8th in Naarm/Melbourne at the Gleeson Centre in Darebin Parklands in Alphington

As the calendar year comes to a close, we pause at the threshold —
between what has been and what is still becoming.

At IPAT, we honour the courage it takes to do this work:
to sit with complexity, to walk in two worlds, to listen deeply, and to walk alongside healing in ways that are ethical, relational, and culturally accountable.

✨ 2025 impact
• Over 120 therapists trained — across primary & allied health, psychedelic therapy, psychology, counselling and research
• At least 15 scholarships offered to Aboriginal community members
• Delivered through our Indigenous approach to Trauma-Informed Care, under the .au Sovereign Business Model

These steps matter. They shape the foundations of how this work is held in Australia and they increase accessibility.

✨ Looking to 2026
Our vision is to at least double these numbers and support psychedelic therapists and anyone working in trauma recovery to deepen their cultural competencies, so this field can grow in more culturally responsive, respectful and grounded ways.

To those who have supported our independent Indigenous business — thank you.
Your trust and solidarity make this work possible.

If you haven’t connected with us yet, reach out.

https://ipat.au

We can:
• add a cultural competency module to your current training
• offer cultural consultancy & supervision
• train your team via private bookings

And keep an eye out for our exciting new training offering in 2026 — we can’t wait to share what’s coming.

Tonight, we give thanks — for people, community, Country, and shared commitment to more ethically grounded, connected & balanced Australian psychedelic therapy spaces.

See you in the new cycle ✨

Immense gratitude to everyone who joined us in Boorloo/Perth for the IPAT Trauma-Informed Care and Practice – An Indigenous Approach to Developing Worker Skills, facilitated by Jem Stone, Kirt Mallie and Dr Bianca Sebben under the We Al-li Programs sovereign business model.

We honour your courage, vulnerability, and dedication to learning with us — exploring both the ongoing impacts of intergenerational and historical trauma, and the deep remembering of our Ancestral wisdom and intergenerational strengths.

Together we created the ceremonial circle that held our group so safely and helped us all reach for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the effect Trauma has upon us and some of the culturally holistic approaches in the recovery from trauma. We would like to thank you for all the sharing, connecting and meaning making. Our mind, body and spirits were collectively moved by the shared stories, yarns and activities.

We know the ripples from this work will flow into your lives, your communities, and your practice.

Deep thanks for supporting IPAT, our small, independent Indigenous business, and to the PAX Centre on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar for looking after us

May the healing shared in circle continue to grow, grounding us in the strength to guide us toward a future of deeper care and connection. May all healing spaces become more culturally and trauma informed, responsive, inclusive and connected for the earth and all people to heal

Indigenous knowledge has held an embodied understanding of breath, body, relationship and safety for thousands of generations. These teachings recognise that the nervous system is shaped through Country, kinship, story, rhythm and ceremony.

Polyvagal theory is a helpful contemporary tool, but it sits inside a much older Indigenous worldview about how humans regulate, connect and heal.

Healing deepens when:
❤️ Indigenous wisdom leads the way,
❤️ neuroscience walks alongside rather than defines, and
❤️ somatic practice is grounded in culture, Country and relationship - not just the individual body.

In October, .au was invited to present at the Indigenous Wellbeing Conference in Meanjin/Brisbane.

It was an honour to share the IPAT story and our work with a large audience of Indigenous peoples, alongside those dedicated to Indigenous wellbeing both nationally and internationally.

Since the rescheduling in 2023, we’ve been working to ensure Indigenous voices, knowledge systems, and community priorities are included in the evolution of psychedelic-assisted therapy in Australia. Our work is opening essential conversations on Indigenous inclusion and cultural safety-not only in practice, but also in policy, research, and how this space grows moving forward.

Connecting with so many passionate individuals afterward was truly inspiring. Many people expressed how much they learned about the rescheduling of psychedelic medicines for mental health treatment and the importance of embedding Indigenous leadership from the very beginning.

These conversations and connections are invaluable, and it’s a privilege to contribute to this vital movement. Feeling deeply grateful for every meaningful exchange and the collective commitment to healing.

If you’d like to learn more about the IPAT journey, our Indigenous-led model of care in psychedelic-assisted therapy, cultural consultancy, or our upcoming training, send us a message or visit: https://ipat.au 🤍

Your Western credentials were never neutral.

Every qualification you hold was shaped by systems built on stolen land — systems that defined what is professional, credible, and ethical through a Western lens.

So what does accountability look like when the very structures that validate your work once pathologised the wisdom of your ancestors?

What does healing look like when your practice still carries the echoes of empire — yet your spirit remembers something far older, freer, and truer?

Decolonising therapy means recognising this tension — holding both complicity and power — and choosing to return to ways of knowing that centre Spirit, Country, and collective wellbeing.

This isn’t a call-out —
it’s a calling in to do the deeper work.
