This morning we grabbed a drink from Kyal's Coffee Kart and listened to tunes by Benny Rowe Music at the "Super Deafingo" book launch. Ben, mentor, advocate, Deafingo owner, and now author, shared the inspiration for his character and his hopes that young Deaf and hard of hearing people will develop strong identities and see their differences as their super power.

Help build understanding, combat stigma and improve support for ADHD worldwide!

In collaboration with international researchers, The University of Melbourne's Developmental Mental Health Research Group want to hear from adults with ADHD on how people globally experience and perceive ADHD.

The survey looks at:
- existing beliefs and stereotypes about ADHD
- how much people agree with these ideas
- whether these attitudes affect how individuals with ADHD view themselves.

Take part in this 10-15 minute survey: https://q.surveys.unimelb.edu.au/jfe/form/SV_09c3hAZxOQIY6cC?Q_CHL=qr

The NDIS dropped quite a bombshell this week! Thank you Sam for breaking it down.

Someone said to me the other day:

“We requested a plan reassessment about a year ago and we are still waiting”

What I need you to know is this:

Just like that gym membership quietly direct-debiting your soul… if it hasn’t happened in a years time, its not going to happen.

Your request was lost, ignored and declined and you weren’t advised.

It’s a ghost.
A bureaucratic tumbleweed.
It has ceased to exist.
It is on a gap year in Bali.
It’s in the witness protection program for annoying paperwork.
It’s archived in the Museum of Forgotten Admin.
It’s completing a Masters in Being Ignored at the University of Red Tape.

My point is that hope is not an effective strategy when government systems are allergic to accountability.

The NDIA has legislated timeframes that it must (should) perform its functions within. Just Google NDIS Participant Service Charter to get the lowdown.

And when they don’t meet their timeframe, that is when you need to start being the squeaky wheel.

Unless you’re happy to just keep waiting… in which case you do you boo!

Polite patience in NDIS land is how you end up stuck in limbo forever.

You’re allowed to expect better,

x Anna
