Meet Donagh - Activity Assistant
For over 20 years, Donagh has been creating special moments with our clients, whether it is heading out to explore new places, throwing a cosy dinner party at the centre or simply sharing a good chat over a cuppa.
Her favourite part of the job is hearing a client say, "I do not even mind what we do, I just love being here." It is a beautiful reminder of why she loves what she does and how meaningful connection can make such a difference to each day.
“I am part of a team that feels like a group of great friends, all working towards the same goal - positively impacting the lives of our clients.” Donagh shared warmly.
Thank you, Donagh, for the warmth, fun and care you bring to our Bethanie community every day. 💚

Meet Cathrine - Customer Engagement Nurse
Working in aged care since 2018, Cathrine joined Bethanie as a Registered Nurse in October 2024 and moved into her current role in November 2025. She walks alongside residents and families as they navigate the journey into aged care, listening, answering questions and involving our chaplain when extra support is needed.
For Cathrine, the best part is when families feel more at ease, knowing she has helped in both small and significant ways.
She shared how she feels a valued part of Bethanie, saying she is part of "the most amazing and diverse team" who helped make her transition into the Customer Engagement Nurse role seamless.
Thank you, Cathrine, for the kindness and heart you bring to Bethanie every day.

For Suzanne and Tony, Bethanie’s “Pink Couple”, we may have guessed a different favourite colour…

💗 Pretty in pink... and in love 💗
In honour of Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating Suzanne and Tony, who met at a Bethanie Waters Retirement Village happy hour five years ago and have been inseparable ever since.
What began as a coffee visit turned into a life together in their very own "Pink Palace" - complete with pink walls, pink kitchenware and even a pearlescent pink car. Their days are filled with creativity, from Suzanne’s sewing and flowers to Tony’s hand crafted guitars and ukuleles, including one made just for her.
Their story is a beautiful reminder that love can be found at any stage of life and sometimes when you least expect it.

Being surrounded by her own supportive community is a special part of her role, “I love Bethanie because I see how much everyone cares for each other's mental health, whether that is at one of our locations or in my team.”

A Golden Evening 💛
Bethanie's Perth Central Social Centre held its very first Sunset Dinner recently, welcoming our clients for a balmy evening outdoors. Everyone enjoyed a candlelight dinner while watching the sun slowly set.
The night continued with live entertainment that brought some onto the dance floor, while others sang and clapped along from their seats. It was a wonderful night with the simple joy of being together.
