Join for FREE next Saturday! 🌸

At YS, we want there to be classes for everyone. That’s why we decided to add the Active Series Led to our timetable. Our teachers always provide options, but we know Ashtanga Led and Mysore can seem a bit daunting.

Please come try it out; all are welcome. 🧡

“For many years, I have wanted to develop a practice that offers the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga but is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. Something that helps everyone stay active, calm, and focused, and that can be practised at home.”
- Sharath Jois

Elena has been a dedicated practitioner for over 20 years, and last year she attended the Active Series teacher training in Osaka, Japan. The last gift left by Sharath.

✨ FREE for all, on Sat, Mar 7 at 9:30 - 10:45 AM

Then as a regular class from Sat, Mar 14.

Available in-person and online. Limited places available, don’t forget to save your spot. 🧘

Are you inadequate? Tell us your thoughts on this 💥.

See spirituality, wellness culture, manifesting, it all has this underlying tone of human potential. The whole human potential movement got big in the 70s, starting with the Erhard Seminars Training. Human potential and possibility, self-accountability and all that jazz and seen in many modern day programs like the Forum.

The thing is, maybe you suck at some stuff. Or maybe things are hard. Maybe your efforts at work, relationships or at home don’t quite match up to your ideals.

We have all these ideas of WHO we should be or HOW we should be. Inevitably, we will fall short. Because no one is perfect, no matter how perfect it all seems. So what then? Well this is where the power of self-compassion steps in.

Free Yoga. Share this - you never know who needs it.

Not everyone has equal access to yoga. 🧘

At Yoga Space, we are not ok with that.

That’s why we have a weekly community class by donation.
Pay what you can, or don’t pay anything at all. There is no pressure. Everyone deserves a community to practice with. 🧡

As part of our Yoga Teacher Training, all of our trainees have to teach an 8-week not-for-profit program.

This is just one of these classes, along with many other offerings, including classes throughout public hospital, domestic violence shelters, prisons, retirement homes and more.

All of our members, students, and trainees make this possible.

✨ Know someone who needs this class?
Tag or send it to them!

Every Wednesday 7:15 pm. Also available online.

Connection. And some thoughts on love. Share yours? 🥰

I have been blessed to feel connected to so many people in my life. I love people. Nonetheless, my social battery runs low quickly. As I get older, study psychology and learn more about myself I know this is greatly to do with being neurodivergent.

It has also helped me realise that people who don’t want to be real, often don’t like me very much. I find it hard to be fake. Fakery exhausts my social battery very quickly. 🙈

I am also someone who knows love.

I have spent a great deal of time alone (before children). I think that may be a part of stepping into different types of loving relationships and friendships?

I need to practice love. I see that there is a great folly in thinking we “fall in love”, and that is an internal state. Or that we feel love for people all the time. ✨

Love is not like that. Love is a practice.

And sometimes, like the people in these pictures, you get to cross paths with people, sometimes without even many words, but they are loving beings. They are trying their best and they are real. I am blessed to feel their love in these moments.

What about you? 🧡

We are in love with this sequence, and how Gemma interprets it. 🥰
The moon flow is a nurturing alternative to the Ashtanga series.

Many Ashtangis use a moon flow when working with injury, on the full moon, or when they are menstruating. Vinyasa practitioners love the steady energy of the sequence and how it feels calming.

All levels are welcome! No experience required.

Led by Gemma, who has been practising Ashtanga for over 20 years, throughout life’s ups and downs. She will meet you with warmth and kindness.

Self compassion is not just self care. As we explore love from different angles this month on the socials and in class, we hope you can learn a little bit about how to practice self-compassion. 🥰

Self compassion is not selfish and it does’t make you lazy. What we love about self-compassion is the focus on our common humanity.

As we cultivate kindness for ourselves, we can’t help but allow our awareness to expand beyond ourselves to the world. 🧡
