Can you make it to our yearly tradition? 🌟

We fell in love with the small town of Mysore decades ago.

After spending an extensive time in India and all becoming authorised teachers, we came back to Perth and opened the Yoga Space. 🏡

This is the 20th year running of our Mysore program!

Amber has spent many years working in the mental health sector, specifically drug & alcohol. She teaches within a correctional facility as part of drug and alcohol rehabilitation, as well as supporting the prison officers with a yoga practice.

Off the mat, Amber is a mum of 4 (+ one fur baby), loves trail running and is currently studying psychology. ✨

Is acceptance resignation? 🧐

Santosha is one of the Niyamas in Patanjali’s 8 limbs of yoga.

Santosha is about contentment and steadiness with things as they are.

Santosha is the inverse of the Yama Aparigraha, non-grasping.

💫 One of the biggest challenges in yoga, healing, work, study, and life is practising Santosha in such a way that our radical acceptance isn’t the end point.

It’s not a resignation.

It’s not an absence of hope.

Cultivating santosha is the beginning of waking up to our life, to our circumstances, to the situation that the world is in. 🌎

Maybe Santosha is starting where we are, rather than wishing we were somewhere else?

Want a more accessible path into Ashtanga? 💪

The Active Series is the last gift from Sharath Jois to the yoga community. Sharath’s dream was to spread the practice throughout the world, and to do this, he wanted to make the Ashtanga series more attainable.

With the same benefits of ashtanga yoga this practice is simpler and more gentle on the body. ✨

Elena has been practising Ashtanga for over 20 years and recently returned from the Active Series Training in Osaka, Japan.

In the spirit of sangha, there will be a community event straight after for cuppas 🧡

Pelvic pain is an under funded are of research and clinical treatment. Over the years I’ve taught many people (mainly women) with enduring pelvic pain.

There is a high overlap with and and

Yoga is so wonderful for pain and especially pelvic pain because it helps propel reclaim their body, before their body, down regulate their nervous system and develop skills to manage.

If you have pelvic pain I would recommend our Healing Hatha with or Deep Rest with .ryan and also our Ashtanga Mysore program gives you the opportunity to adapt your yoga practice one-to-one with an experienced teacher. You don’t need to do all the Ashtanga intensity! Without lots of strong vinyasas and muscular locks (bandhas) ashtanga can work for you too. Ashtanga is taught by and Eva.

How delicious - which one would you choose?! 🍓

Every retreat we always choose .peach.kitchen they are part of our Sangha too. Relationships that develop over time are important to nurture.

It’s the same with our teaching staff. We aren’t interested in how many Instagram followers they have. Some aren’t even on Instagram! We love their capacity to cultivate relational warmth and safety with each other as a team, and with our students. 💫

Then the new year kicks in and somehow people are not enough. People set goals often informed by diet culture and neoliberalism.

This December and January we are embracing
✨SANTOSHA - Contentment

and

✨SANGHA - Community

I love(d) Christmas. Until someone smashed into our whole family and put us all in hospital. So this year I am reflecting on why this time of year is important to me. 🎄

It’s about connection and community. It’s about joining together for our YS traditions - festive led, beach yoga. All these simple ways we mark the years passing. It’s about time with my kids, family and friends.

So this December and January we will reflect on Santosha together in practice and invite you to join us for lots of community events! 🧡
