House Clearings and House Blessings
Good Morning Everyone,
One Māori custom, that is sometimes ignored nowadays, is when you first move into a house one should Spiritually clear and cleanse the house, it is especially important if it is a brand-new home (that is another discussion).
Unexplained happenings, bumps in the night and unexplained sicknesses are often attributed to Spiritual trauma and Spiritual attack which adversely affects the House, the environment, the space and more importantly the people that live in that space.
House clearings are conducted to clear negative spiritual energy and bless the property to help keep the house safe, peaceful, and protected.
Clearing Ceremonies are not exclusively for domestic residences but any space where people intend to use on a regular basis. Quite often Clearings need to be conducted more than once because people have inadvertently brought things in from other spaces after the initial blessing.
For example, this happens when you purchase something. Anything you buy has been touched or owned by another person, therefore it has their spiritual energy (good or bad) connected to it. If items are not blessed before you bring them into your space, you invite the negative spiritual energy to dwell in your home or office. The other way these entities get into your home is when other people enter your blessed space carrying what we call hitchhikers, or if you go to a negative space and you return with the hitchhikers.
I have been asked to Conduct Ceremonial House Clearings and Blessings regularly for many, many years, and this year has been no exception.
We have Conducted a number of clearings in the past few weeks and it looks like we have a few more to conduct before the Month is out.
As always, We are here to serve However, House Clearings and Blessings are different to our other services. The main difference is travelling, location, layout, and access to the property all of which need to be discussed prior to booking a date and time.

This proverb Speaks of Perspective, Perception and Acceptance.

If We dwell on the Mountain Top what knowledge do We have of the People who dwell in the Valley Floor and vice versa.
If We dwell in the Valley Floor what knowledge could we possibly have of those who dwell at the very peak of that huge Mountain front of Us. In reality probably very very little.
Yet we assume that we do know, and why is that?
Because we are told stories from family, historians, reputable scholars and gossip mongers who inform us exactly what it is like to dwell in those places.
We assume that what we have heard is the Truth.
However, the only knowledge we are hearing are from the people who dwell in the same places and live similar familiar lifestyles to us and have heard those same stories and assumptions all their lives.
Whether that knowledge was correct or not one will never know unless you are willing to embark on a journey.

Descend the deadly treacherous slopes that drop You down to the Valley Floor or climb those impossible cliffs clinging to every crag and crevice as You scale the Top of that monstrous Mountain.

What could You possibly know what it is like to dwell in either of those places unless, you actually live there.
Live among the people, experience their joy their pain their food their customs.

Most People journey through Life knowing only themselves and trusting only in the rhetoric of the knowledge handed down to them from those who are just like them,
that to them is their Truth and they are sticking to it.
Suffice it to say it is a very narrow view, one that has very little wiggle room when it comes to accepting an alternative point of view.

What does an ancient truth mean today? Is it still valid for the life we live today?

To Me the answer to those questions is a resounding YES!

The easy answer will be to play the cultural or religious card or any of the flavour of the month cards or labels that people love to flout around nowadays. There is also the chasm like rift between the tech savvy generations of today and the Baby Boomer generations who roll their sleeves up and get on with it “Adapt Adjust Overcome”.

It is as simple as a parent trying to say they understand what their eleven year old feels because they were eleven once. However, the eleven year olds of today have no idea of what you are saying and they could never understand what you are talking about because, they did not live as an eleven year old during your time stamp. They didn’t live in a time without technology, they live in a time without instant communication, they didn’t live in a time where it was ok not to contact someone and say where you were going or what you’re doing every second.
They just don’t know!
We should accept that people are people and people have differences and we should accept them and their differences or go and walk in their shoes until you actually know what the hell they are talking about.
