Lesson #155 - Your first love should have been yourself.

But let’s be honest. It probably wasn’t.

It was likely someone who couldn’t hold your heart because they hadn’t even found their own. Someone who mirrored your ache, your hope, and your need to be chosen, and you called it fate. And maybe, for a while, it felt like it was.

But the love you were looking for wasn’t in their hands.

It was in the parts of you you’d abandoned to be more “lovable.”
It was in the silence after the texts stopped.
It was in the mirror when you were still enough to see your own worth without their reflection confirming it.

Your first love should have been the one who stayed. The one who never asked you to shrink, contort, or perform. The one who knew your language without you having to translate.

And that love? It was supposed to be you.

So if you missed that the first time, go back. Be your first love now. Fall stupidly, unapologetically, and obsessively in love with you.

Because once you do that? Every other love has to rise to meet it. Self-love isn’t a trend. It’s the original soulmate contract.

Lesson #155: Put you first!

Let’s get one thing absolutely clear: you are under no obligation to make others happy or solve their problems. While it’s natural to care about people, if you find that your own life is left in ruins while you devote all your energy to others, something’s off. Caring for others is only sustainable when you also care for yourself.

Spending all your time nurturing others while you wither away is a sure sign you don’t give a flying crap about you, and that, my friend, cuts your ability to truly help anyone short.

Imagine if you invested even half the energy you give to others into your own life. Picture the obstacles you’d overcome, the happiness and health you’d achieve, and the incredible boost that would add to your capacity to support those around you. It’s not selfish or narcissistic; it’s honouring the incredible spark of the universe that you are.

The reality is simple: take care of you first. Put yourself at the top of your priority list. When you genuinely care for yourself, you grow stronger, and your ability to care for others multiplies. It’s a win-win, and trust me, it’s really cool to watch yourself transform when you finally choose you.

Take care of you first, and the rest will follow.
