MEET OUR STAFF
Benjamin Trewben
Having graduated from Curtin University in 2000 Ben has gained vast experience in both private practice & Public sector podiatry here & in the UK. With 3 years at Royal Perth Hospital (18 months as senior podiatrist) & 2 years in public sector podiatry in the UK, Ben has extensive experience in managing Diabetic & other high risk feet.
Before studying podiatry Ben completed 2 years of a Sports Science degree & was an active Level 1 Sports Trainer. This love of sports & biomechanics has helped Ben deliver effective podiatry care for active people who like to stay on their feet. Ben uses a vast array of mobilisation & dry needling techniques to compliment his other podiatry skills to improve foot function & relieve pain.
In his spare time Ben loves spending time with his family & participates socially in triathlon events.
Scot Thomas
After graduating from Queensland University of Technology Scot moved to Perth and began working at Royal Perth Hospital with a focus on diabetic high risk foot care. He is a published author of a journal article looking at improving offloading for diabetic clients. Scot has completed courses in dry needling as well as mobilisation and enjoys using these techniques to help patients with pain management as well as increasing foot function. Scot enjoys an active lifestyle and is involved in cycling, running and triathlons
Esther Ling
Esther Graduated from The University Of Western Australia in 2013 & joined the Stepahead Podiatry Team in 2014. Esther had spent some time at Step Ahead Podiatry in both 3rd & 4th years as part of her clinical rotation & was the clear stand out of all the students of her year group that attended Stepahead Podiatry for placement. Esther has an overwhelming enthusiasm to help her clients & attended external courses as a student to become proficient in dry needling techniques & foot joint mobilisation techniques. This willingness to go the extra mile shines through in her care & attention to detail when tending to her clients concerns.
Christopher Gilomen
Chris graduated from The University Of Western Australia in 2011 & joined the Stepahead Podiatry Team in 2012. He was a scholarship winner to study podiatry & ended his course with outstanding marks. Chris is from the South West of WA & has a passion for all sports. Chris also has a passion for Indigenous health care & is the lead podiatrist in our service to Moorditj Koort in Kwinana. Chris is also our home visit podiatrist.
Amin Shevketoglu
After moving to Brisbane to study podiatry Amin Graduated from Queensland’s University of Technology & returned to Perth to join the Step Ahead Podiatry team in early 2015. Amin has a real dedication to his clients & his willingness to “go the extra mile” has already saved a number of feet. Amin has also trained in foot joint mobilisation techniques & dry needling techniques & loves helping clients reach their goals, no matter how big or small. After attending a running seminar by the Biomechanical Laboratory from South Australia, Amin is leading our team with his passion for video gait analysis for injury management & prevention. Amin is a passionate Liverpool supporter but can often be found watching all codes of football or cricket whenever he gets the chance.
Madison Champion
Madison is a Perth girl born and raised, who completed all her six years studying at the University of Western Australia. Madison completed her undergraduate double degree in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Human Biology & Anatomy, then continued with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Madison enjoys all aspects of podiatry, however as an avid sportsperson herself, she is passionate in preventing and treating running and sports-related injuries. Outside the clinic you will find Madison at the beach, working out, or spending time with her two Cavoodles – Teddy and Coco.
Manpreet Kaur
Manpreet graduated with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Western Australia in 2018. Prior to this, she studied a Bachelor of Science majoring in Pathology and Physiology at UWA. Throughout her university experience, she has been involved in a many diverse volunteering experiences such as being the President of the Podiatric Medicine Students Society at UWA in 2018 and many more. She pursued Podiatry because of her strong interest in the health sciences and desire to work with patients. Her areas of interest include sports podiatry, paediatric podiatry and general podiatry. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her cat, Aurora.
