Shout out to the incredible for all your Ayurvedic needs in Rockingham 🌿 Insomnia has been a long-time companion of mine, and with life feeling especially heavy and stressful lately, I knew I needed deeper support. Hand on heart, I can say I feel the difference since incorporating Sang’s remedies into my routine. Sleep still isn’t perfect, but it’s coming and I notice it big time on the nights I skip my sleepy tea or ashwagandha cacao. Soft, slow and soothing, this gentle yoga sequence is part of my bedtime ritual.

It’s designed to help you wind down, melt away tension from the day, and ease into restful sleep. šŸ’¤
Listen to your breath and the aim is long supported holds,m. You can even do it in bed. šŸ›ļø

1. Tie up the hair and get it out of your way.
2-3. Sukhasana with Nadi Shodhana pranyama
4-6. Neck and shoulder rolls
7-8. Paschimottasana (with or without bolster/pillow)
9-10. Supine twists
11. Happy baby
12. Viparita Karani (legs up the wall)
13. Supported Supta Buddha Konasana
14. Savasana

Just a little life update …..

I’m not sharing this for sympathy, but to honour my humanness.

I’ve been quiet lately, in class and online. My dad’s been unwell back in Ireland, and while I haven’t been able to get over there yet (passport dramas!), I’ve been supporting from here as much as I can and also panicking, burying my head in the sand… and not always doing a great job at any of it.

If you know me, you know my dad is everything. He’s funny, smart, hard-working, bold, loving, he’s got a bit of an Irish temper and he’s always been my biggest cheerleader. The one who told me to get back up, who showed me what love looks like, and who kept asking ā€œAre you happy?ā€ until I finally understood what that meant. I can hear him now ā€œWell done, gartla… you got there in the end.ā€

It’s taken a lot out of me. So I’ve stepped back from teaching for a bit. I’m so grateful to my beautiful students for being patient and supportive. I hope I’ve shown up for you the way you’ve shown up for me.

My own practice has been messy and all over the place, I’ll share some of that soon.

For now… thank you, and if your dad’s nearby, give him a hug, and if you feel like it, share a story about him — I’d love to hear.

Five Years of Yoga, Growth & Gratitude

How has it been over five years since I took the leap into my yoga teacher training? Life has been a whirlwind since, but through it all, yoga has been my anchor.

Thank you, yoga, for teaching me to slow down.
For reminding me to breathe.
For the incredible friendships and connections made along the way.
And most of all, for helping me discover my own light.

Here’s to the practice that keeps on giving. ✨

Yoga nidra is known as the ā€œyogic sleepā€ or ā€œā€effortless relaxationā€, it’s that state between wakefulness and sleeping, that beautifully peaceful layer of drowsiness we feel just before we fall asleep at night.

Who is Yoga Nidra for?

Absolutely anyone can practiceĀ Yoga Nidra, however it appeals to those who struggle to let go or to switch off. It also benefits those suffering from sleep deprivation, trauma, anxiety or depression.

Yoga Nidra is one of my favourite classes to teach. I feel the calling to deliver this class more and more often!

In the middle of discovering and learning more about myself on this journey through another Yoga Teacher Training, sometimes its confronting and I don’t like a lot of what I’m learning about myself, mostly because I need to work on me! Calling in the mountain from my yoga nidra and through it all I must sit because it is worth it!
