Just a little life update ā¦..
Iām not sharing this for sympathy, but to honour my humanness.
Iāve been quiet lately, in class and online. My dadās been unwell back in Ireland, and while I havenāt been able to get over there yet (passport dramas!), Iāve been supporting from here as much as I can and also panicking, burying my head in the sand⦠and not always doing a great job at any of it.
If you know me, you know my dad is everything. Heās funny, smart, hard-working, bold, loving, heās got a bit of an Irish temper and heās always been my biggest cheerleader. The one who told me to get back up, who showed me what love looks like, and who kept asking āAre you happy?ā until I finally understood what that meant. I can hear him now āWell done, gartla⦠you got there in the end.ā
Itās taken a lot out of me. So Iāve stepped back from teaching for a bit. Iām so grateful to my beautiful students for being patient and supportive. I hope Iāve shown up for you the way youāve shown up for me.
My own practice has been messy and all over the place, Iāll share some of that soon.
For now⦠thank you, and if your dadās nearby, give him a hug, and if you feel like it, share a story about him ā Iād love to hear.
