Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic BETTER HEALTH STARTS HERE! Welcome to bayshorenaturopathic.com
specialists in vitality and wellness. What is Naturopathy?

Also known as Natural Medicine, Naturopathy is a system of healing using non-toxic therapies such as herbal medicine and nutrition. We aim to address the underlying cause of disease by treating the whole person, using gentle but highly effective treatments for long lasting results. Pharmaceutical preparations often merely mask symptoms and the side-effects often outweigh the benefits. We are seeing a greater trend towards natural therapies as more information becomes available about the potentially toxic nature of pharmaceuticals. It is worth noting that a great many of the herbs that have been used for centuries to cure different ailments have now had extensive trials and studies done to confirm their efficacy, making herbal medicine as scientifically valid as pharmaceutical medicine. At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic we use only the purest and highest quality supplements, herbs and nutritional products. We also work towards creating the correct diet and lifestyle for our clients, which is a variable thing, as we are all individual and unique. As Hippocrates said “let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food”. We offer a range of services, including weight-loss, digestive problems including Chrohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, fertility issues in men and women, hormonal issues, children and babies’ health, detoxification, metabolism and thyroid health, diabetes support, anti-aging strategies, pain relief and cancer support and auto-immune conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis. If you are unsure if we can help you and your specific problem please feel free to talk to us first.

So many people spend their younger years trading their health for money, working long hours, living with constant stress, eating poorly, and putting their wellbeing last. Then later in life, they find themselves spending that money trying to get their health back.

True wealth isn’t just what’s in the bank — it’s energy, vitality, time with the people we love, and a healthy body and mind to enjoy life.

Perhaps the real lesson is this:
Don’t wait until your health is gone to realise how valuable it is.

Take care of your body now… it’s the only place you have to live. 🧠💚

Trans fats are one of the most harmful fats you can put into your body — yet they still sneak into many foods. ⚠️

These fats are created when liquid vegetable oils are chemically altered through a process called hydrogenation so they become solid and last longer on supermarket shelves.

Sounds convenient for food manufacturers… but not so great for our health.

Research has shown that trans fats can:

🧠 Increase inflammation in the body
❤️ Raise “bad” LDL cholesterol
⬇ Lower “good” HDL cholesterol
🩸 Contribute to insulin resistance
🧠 Negatively affect brain health and cognition

Common Sources of Trans Fats

Even though regulations have reduced them in some foods, they can still be found in:

🍪 Commercial baked goods (biscuits, cakes, pastries)
🍟 Deep-fried fast foods
🥧 Packaged pies and pastries
🍿 Microwave popcorn
🧁 Processed snack foods
🥐 Margarine and vegetable shortening
🥨 Some crackers and packaged baked products

A clue on labels is the phrase “partially hydrogenated oils.”

The good news is that there are much better fats that actually support your brain and body.

Choose more of these instead:

🥑 Avocados
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🥥 Coconut oil
🧈 Grass-fed butter or ghee
🥜 Nuts and seeds
🐟 Fatty fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel

These healthy fats help support our cells, reduce inflammation, and provide stable energy for the body.

When it comes to fats, quality matters more than quantity.

Avoid the artificial fats created in factories and choose the natural fats that humans have eaten for generations.

Every cell of your body will thank you for it. 🧠✨

Testosterone is often thought of as something that only declines with age — but lifestyle plays a huge role in testosterone levels in men.

The good news?
Simple, consistent changes can make a significant difference 👇

✔️ Healthy, nutrient-dense diet — supports hormone production and reduces inflammation
✔️ Resistance exercise — one of the most powerful natural ways to boost testosterone and improve muscle mass, strength, and metabolism
✔️ Quality sleep & stress management — essential for hormone balance

There are also targeted herbal medicines that can be particularly supportive for men’s hormone health when used appropriately and professionally prescribed.

Low or imbalanced testosterone can show up as:
• Low libido
• Erectile dysfunction
• Fatigue or low motivation
• Loss of muscle mass
• Increased abdominal weight
• Brain fog
• Low mood or irritability

At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic, we look at the whole picture — lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and targeted natural therapies — to support optimal men’s health.

If you’re experiencing these symptoms, don’t ignore them.

Many people are surprised to learn that women actually produce and need testosterone — and in quite significant amounts.

Testosterone in women plays important roles in:
✨ Energy
✨ Motivation and drive
✨ Muscle strength
✨ Bone health
✨ Libido
✨ Cognitive function

But when testosterone is out of balance, it can contribute to conditions like PCOS and other hormone-related symptoms.

And as we age, testosterone levels naturally tend to decline, which can lead to symptoms such as:
• Low libido
• Fatigue
• Loss of muscle tone
• Weight gain (especially around the abdomen)
• Brain fog
• Low mood
• Reduced motivation
• Poor recovery from exercise

At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic, we use advanced functional testing like Endomap, which looks beyond basic hormone levels. It helps us assess your overall hormone picture as well as potential endocrine disruptor and environmental exposure patterns that may be influencing your hormones.

The good news? There is so much we can do to support hormone balance, including:
🌿 Targeted herbal medicine
🥗 Personalised nutrition
💊 Specific nutritional supplementation
🏃‍♀️ Lifestyle interventions that support healthy hormone production

If you’re experiencing symptoms and wondering if hormones could be playing a role, 📞 call us for advice — we’re here to help you get clarity and a personalised plan, on 08 9592 7360

Did you know testosterone levels in men (and women) don’t exist in isolation?

They are strongly influenced by oestrogen — and by something many people don’t think about… xenoestrogens.

Xenoestrogens are synthetic chemicals that mimic oestrogen in the body. And the reality is — we are ALL exposed to them. Not just people working in factories or industry. They’re found in plastics, personal care products, pesticides, fragrances, and even receipts.

When these compounds build up, they can disrupt the delicate hormone balance between oestrogen and testosterone, potentially contributing to symptoms like:
• Low libido
• Fatigue
• Brain fog
• Mood changes
• Weight gain
• Loss of muscle tone

At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic, we use advanced functional testing like Endomap, which doesn’t just look at hormone levels — it can also give insight into potential endocrine disruptor and xenoestrogen exposure patterns.

Because true hormone health isn’t just about what your body makes…
It’s also about what your body is exposed to daily.

If you’re struggling with symptoms but not getting clear answers, it may be time to test deeper 💛

Perimenopause can be one of the most confusing hormonal transitions for women… because it often doesn’t show up clearly on standard blood tests.

Many women are told:
“Your hormones are normal.”
And yet they’re experiencing symptoms like mood changes, anxiety, poor sleep, brain fog, cycle changes, and weight shifts.

Here’s why 👇
Hormones fluctuate significantly during perimenopause — sometimes even hour to hour — and blood tests only capture a single moment in time. That snapshot can miss the bigger picture.

At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic, we can order functional hormone testing such as DUTCH testing, which looks at hormone metabolites and patterns over time, giving a much deeper understanding of what is really happening in your body.

Because you deserve answers.
And a plan that is based on your real biochemistry — not just “normal ranges”.

If you’re feeling “not quite yourself” but your blood tests say everything is fine, it might be time to look deeper 💛

✨ Minerals are often called the “spark plugs” of the body — and for good reason.

Minerals switch enzymes on. They drive chemical reactions. They help your brain, hormones, immune system, detox pathways, and energy production all work the way they should.

Without enough minerals, the body doesn’t run smoothly. It struggles. And sometimes symptoms start showing up long before a deficiency is obvious.
Here’s something most people don’t realise:

Blood tests are actually a poor way to assess mineral status.

Why? Because most minerals live inside your cells, not floating around in your blood. Your body works very hard to keep blood levels stable — even if your tissues are depleted — because blood must stay balanced for survival.

So blood can look “normal”… while your cells are not.

That’s where Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) can be incredibly helpful.

HTMA gives us a longer-term view of mineral balance and patterns in the body, and it can also highlight patterns that may suggest heavy metal burden. This helps us move beyond guesswork and create more targeted, personalised health strategies.
If you’re dealing with fatigue, brain fog, hormone issues, or unexplained symptoms, mineral balance could be a missing piece. 💚

🌍 Heavy metals are everywhere in our modern world.

They can be found in things like old paint, water, food, cookware, cosmetics, dental materials, pollution, and even some medications. Over time, small exposures can add up — and many people have no idea they’re carrying a toxic load.

The tricky part?
Standard blood tests rarely pick up long-term heavy metal exposure. Blood mainly shows recent exposure, not what has been stored deep in tissues over time.

🚩 Symptoms of high heavy metals can include:
• Brain fog
• Fatigue
• Poor memory or concentration
• Anxiety or mood changes
• Headaches
• Hormone imbalances
• Immune issues
• Nerve or tingling sensations
• Digestive problems

In our clinic, we use Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to help uncover patterns that may suggest heavy metal burden, while also looking at your mineral status — because minerals and heavy metals interact closely in the body.

HTMA gives us a deeper, longer-term picture than blood tests alone, helping us create more targeted, personalised support plans.

If you’ve been struggling with unexplained symptoms, this may be a missing piece of your health puzzle. 💚

🧠 Why chronic symptoms don’t always show up on standard blood tests

Chronic illness doesn’t behave like acute illness — and it shouldn’t be assessed the same way.

Routine blood work is designed to detect:
• Acute infections
• Organ dysfunction
• Major deficiencies
• Significant inflammation

But many chronic symptoms are driven by functional imbalances, not disease states — including:
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Stress and HPA-axis disruption
• Immune system instability
• Gut and microbiome imbalance
• Mitochondrial energy deficits
• Detoxification overload

These issues often sit within reference ranges — yet still create fatigue, brain fog, pain, hormonal issues, and poor resilience.

This is why people are told:
👉 “Everything looks fine”
👉 “Let’s wait and see”

At Bayshore Naturopathic Clinic, we take a systems-based, functional medicine approach — looking at how the body is adapting, compensating, or breaking down over time.

📋 Already have blood test results?
Bring them to your appointment. We assess:
• Functional (optimal) ranges
• Trends over time
• Connections between systems

✨ When we widen the lens, symptoms start to make sense — and become far more treatable.

🩸 “Your blood tests are normal.”

But you’re still exhausted. Foggy. Inflamed. Not yourself.

This is something we hear all the time at Bayshore Clinic.

And here’s the truth most people aren’t told 👇
Normal blood tests do not always mean optimal health.

Standard testing is excellent for acute problems — infections, organ failure, major deficiencies.

But chronic symptoms often live in the grey zone:
• Nervous system overload
• Hormonal stress patterns
• Low-grade inflammation
• Gut and immune dysregulation
• Poor energy production
• Detox pathways under strain

When multiple systems are stressed at once, you can feel awful — even if every result sits “in range”.

For acute illness, “wait and see” can make sense.
For chronic issues, waiting often means getting further away from feeling well.

At Bayshore Clinic, we look at:
✔️ Patterns, not just numbers
✔️ Trends over time
✔️ How systems interact
✔️ Why symptoms are happening — not just where they show up

✨ If you’ve had blood tests done and still don’t feel right, bring them with you.
We’ll help you look beyond “normal” and focus on how you actually feel.
