Thai Yoga Massage: the healing art of loving kindness
Thai Massage is a rocking dance of loving kindness. However the basics are the same.

Traditional Thai massage is both an art and a science in Thai cultural healthcare. This is a type of body work that involves manipulation to balance the physical body and keep the energy lines, 'sen lines', from becoming blocked, obstructing the flow of life force, removing illness from the body. Thai massage or nuad boran, an essential indigenous healing method, has traditionally been learned as an oral tradition in villages or through large schools. Evidence shows this tradition dates back over 2500 years. Much of the original teachings have been destroyed over the years through various invasions, but before they could all be destroyed, King Rama III had several plaques made to preserve the teachings. The plaques were embedded at Wat Pho which remain today, and are still taught at the largest Thai massage school in Bangkok. We can see how Thai massage has taken its own path in developing from ancient knowledge that is passed down and endures today, in fact it is thriving! Considering the nature of different cultures and the vast number of schools teaching Thai massage today, some different traditions have arisen, or some different ways to interpret tradition. Give the massage with the intention of loving kindness and you are already half way there or more. The Thai massage therapist manipulates the sen using a combination of warm hands, delicious elbows, sensitive knees and light feet feet together with some stretching guiding the body to let go of any tension one might be holding due to illness or stress.
