Welcome to The Mobile Sensing Study! This study is being conducted at Dalhousie University. We are using a smartphone app to measure anxiety in youth (ages 15-21 years old) and adults (ages 26-40 years old).

The goal is to see if smartphone apps can be used successfully as a tool to measure anxiety symptoms as they occur, in real-time during everyday life. And if so, we want to know: can we also measure differences in youth and adult anxiety problems with a phone app?

Participants who consent to join the study will be asked to complete two stages:

First, they will be asked to answer some classic questionnaires about their well-being. This will take approximately 15-20 minutes.

Second, they will be asked to download and use our smartphone app for 14 days (two weeks). The app will ask participants to rate their anxiety every day, and to answer some questions about their daily habits once per week. The app will also passively (i.e., without participants having to do anything) and anonymously measure sleep, social, and exercise behaviours each day.
Participants who complete the study will receive $20 reimbursement.
