1. New Email Appointment Reminders and More
We have starting using a service called OCEAN to send appointment reminders over email.
This also allows for secure messages, results, letters or forms to be sent to your email. You do not need an account for Ocean, you only need to follow the link sent and use your birthday to access the message.
IMPORTANT: The email reminders have a link
to confirm or reschedule your appointment.
By confirming with the link you help us maximize available appointment times and keep the phone lines open for incoming calls, to better serve all of our patients

2. New Email Appointment Reminders and More
Please ensure you have an updated email on file. You can do this by checking in with the Administrative Team.

Seasons Changing Wellness Giveaway!!!

This giveaway is to promote community wellness over the seasons changing. With less daylight hours and colder months, it can be challenging for a variety of reasons. These factors also impact our mental health and wellbeing. I felt it would be great to start a discussion on what others do to care for themselves during the seasons changing and hopefully open up a knowledge sharing space.

Attached for everyone to utilize is a dopamine menu template and a blank one for you to customize to your likes, these are helpful tools when you need to do some dopamine enhancing activities. Dopamine is a brain chemical that assists with feelings of pleasure and happiness, sometimes called “the feel-good hormone”.

3 prizes to be won and winners will be contacted by email. All prizes consist of items pictured and listed below:
Light therapy lamp
Lawton’s $15 gift card for Vitamin D (if advised by your healthcare provider) or other health needs.
Steel water bottle
Smudge kit
Copper mug
Journal
2025 planner
Cedar soap

To enter, all steps below must be completed:
- Comment below what you do to care for yourself and your wellbeing during the seasons changing (if you do not feel comfortable, feel free to add this on the email as well).
- Email shonna.brown@mymnfc.com with your name and Indigenous community connection.
- In order to enter you must be of Indigenous decent and must able to pick up prize at Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre, located at 2021 Brunswick Street, Halifax.

Contest closes December 6th!

“Joint Statement on Encampment Closures
On Monday, February 26th, the Halifax Regional Municipality will enforce the closure of five encampment sites and move to evict those remaining on the properties. Staff from our organizations will be present to provide support to those most affected. Unlike the violent evictions of August 2021, we trust that all are committed to a peaceful and dignified process on Monday.

We will be present at the following sites: Saunders Park, Victoria Park and Grande Parade, Halifax.”

The logos of the following are seen under the while text: Coverdale Justice, Phoenix Halifax, Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre, North End Community Health Centre, Welcome Housing and Support Services, Dalhousie Social Work Community Clinic, Adsum, Dalhousie Legal Aid Service.
