EMDR therapy stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing—but what does that even mean? Here’s the scoop in plain (and friendly) language:

• 💭 When we experience trauma, it doesn’t just stay in our minds—it gets held in our bodies too.
• ⚡ This can make it hard to understand why we have certain strong reactions or feel triggered.
• 🌊 Trauma can affect our ability to regulate emotions, leaving us feeling overwhelmed or “off balance.”
• 🧠 Sometimes, it feels like our body remembers what our brain wants to forget.
• 🔄 EMDR helps your brain unstick those memories and sensations—kind of like hitting the reset button.
• 👁️ It uses gentle eye movements, taps, or sounds (called bilateral stimulation) to support this process.
• 😍 The best part? You don’t have to relive every painful detail to start feeling better.
• 🌱 EMDR helps your brain process trauma the way it’s naturally designed to heal.
• 💪 This can reduce triggers and help you feel more grounded, calm, and in control over time.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or confused about your feelings or reactions, EMDR might be the support you need.

I’m here to walk alongside you in this healing journey—at your pace, with kindness and respect. 💛

Many of us learned to survive by ignoring the younger parts of ourselves that were hurting.

In this space, we focus on gently reconnecting with those parts—offering them the care, safety, and compassion they didn’t receive before.

Reparenting isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about learning to meet yourself with kindness, curiosity, and patience.

You don’t have to go back alone. I’m here to walk alongside you.

Getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult can feel like suddenly finding the missing piece to a puzzle you didn’t even know you were working on.

One minute you’re scrolling TikTok thinking, “Why are they describing my life?”
The next, you’re looking back at everything wondering:

“How did nobody catch this?”
“Was I just masking that well?”
“Is this why I keep walking into rooms and forgetting why I’m there?”
“Am I allowed to grieve this?”

Yes, you are.

Late diagnosis often brings a wave of relief and a wave of grief.
Things start to make sense, but you also see all the ways you were misunderstood, pushed too hard, or too hard on yourself.

If you're in that space between clarity and confusion, grief and growth, you're not alone.
You are not broken. You are not lazy.
Your past makes more sense than you've been told.

This is where healing begins.
This is where you learn how your brain really works.
And maybe, finally, start treating it with more kindness 💛

I aim to offer in my therapy practice: a space where you don’t have to mask, over-explain, or hold it all together.

I support people who are:
🔸 Working through trauma (whether it’s from years ago or still unfolding)
🔸 Exhausted from masking or always trying to “keep it together”
🔸 Navigating ADHD-related challenges like emotional regulation, burnout, and shame
🔸 Trying to untangle patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-doubt

Talk therapy can be incredibly helpful, but especially when trauma is involved, healing sometimes requires more than words. It takes safety, presence, and a body-based approach.

You don’t need to know exactly where to begin. You just need someone to meet you where you are. That’s where I come in.

👋 Hi, I’m Kendra; a passionate, neuro-spicy therapist who’s equal parts professional and “Did I put my keys in the fridge again?”

I help people heal from various forms of trauma using EMDR therapy, reconnect with themselves, and create lives that feel calmer, clearer, and more in tune with their own needs.

I also have a special interest in working with adults navigating ADHD, especially women diagnosed later in life who are still figuring out what that means for them. I know how hard it can be to feel at home in a world that often forgets to factor us in.

In therapy, I show up with professionalism, warmth, and a touch of humour. I don’t believe therapy should feel cold or clinical. I believe in connection- the kind that feels safe, human, and healing.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to show up, and I’ll meet you there.

I’m based in Nova Scotia, but my passion for helping folks feel seen and supported reaches far beyond that.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to share more with you. 💛
