❄️ Proper Shoveling Technique – Save Your Back This Winter! 🧤
It’s that time of year again… snowstorms, heavy slush, and endless shoveling! 🌨️
Before you head outside, keep these physio-approved tips in mind to protect your back and joints:
1️⃣ Engage Your Core
Your core muscles take pressure off your back. Keep them tight while you shovel to reduce strain.
2️⃣ Lift With Your Legs 🦵
Bend at your hips and knees — not your back. Using your legs helps move heavy snow safely.
3️⃣ Watch Your Stance
Keep a wide base and make sure your feet face the direction you’re moving the snow. This improves balance and reduces joint stress.
4️⃣ Choose the Right Shovel 🛠️
A slightly smaller shovel may seem slower, but it limits weight per lift — saving your body in the long run.
👉 Pro Tip: Push snow when you can instead of lifting!
Save this post for the next storm — your back will thank you later. ❄️
