Northwood - Live More We are the largest not-for-profit continuing care organization in Atlantic Canada.

Northwood was created in 1962 as a way to provide help to seniors that were living in poverty. For some, it is a place to live but we also provide at-home solutions to help people age well in the community. Northwood has locations in Halifax and Bedford and provides homecare throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality and to some parts of Hants County. We have over 1,500 staff, 600 volunteers and over 5,000 clients at our locations and throughout the province.

Today we kicked off Northwood’s annual Dignity Month at our Halifax Campus with an incredible celebration of dignity, belonging, and choice in aging and care.

We were thrilled to announce a $50,000 gift to the Dignified Living Fund, which helps provide essentials not otherwise covered — such as glasses, dental care, mobility supports, and clothing — so members of our Northwood community can live with comfort, independence, and dignity.

The afternoon featured community members, government officials, donors, and a very special premiere performance of an original song written exclusively for Northwood and Dignity Month by Mike Cowie & Liz Rigney

And don’t forget — our online auction is now live! All proceeds go directly to the Dignified Living Fund.
