Have you had an IUD or endometrial biopsy within the last year at IWK Health?

Researchers are looking for 2-3 patient partners to join their research team. This study explores the implementation and impacts of the Adult Comfort Promise (improving pain care) at IWK Health for IUD insertion and endometrial biopsies. Patient partners will provide ongoing feedback and guidance for the project, and co-design implementation strategies to further improve it. For more information, click here:

Have you had a gynecological procedure at the IWK? Your voice can help improve how pain is managed for women and gender diverse adults. The IWK's Adult Comfort Promise study is exploring ways to make gynecological procedures more comfortable and equitable by addressing pain and gender bias in care.

I’m so excited to share: Out Loud – Makeup as a Tool for Storytelling & Self 🖤

On August 12th, I’ll be in Mahone Bay facilitating a free self-care workshop designed to uplift and empower 2SLGBTQI+ youth through creative expression, storytelling, and the power of makeup.

Together, we’ll explore ways to lean into authenticity, build confidence, and use beauty as a tool for identity and self-affirmation. From DIY techniques to theatrical looks, this session is all about encouraging youth to show up exactly as they are with pride, creativity, and courage.

If you know a youth in the South Shore area who could benefit from a space like this, I would be so grateful if you shared this with them.

Yesterday's verdict in the Hockey Canada trial was a devastating reminder that our court systems often don't reflect the realities and complexities of consent and trauma.

At HSHC, we support survivors by offering trauma-informed sexual health medical services, social work support, and physiotherapy services. Please note, on days without medical staff:
- We are unable to give birth control, injection supplies, or emergency contraceptives.
- There is no nursing support for phone calls.

Please make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to fill prescriptions, injection supplies, and return phone calls.
