Shop local and support Nova Scotians living with disabilities at the 7th Annual Ability Makers Christmas Market on Friday, November 28th, and Saturday, November 29th at our centre.

The Ability Makers Market features arts and products made by individuals with disabilities, and social enterprises that employ individuals with disabilities.

📆 WHEN: Friday, November 28th, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Saturday, November 29th, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
📌 WHERE: 22 Fielding Avenue, Dartmouth (off Akerley Blvd)
⭐ COST: Free Admission!

Make sure to stop by New Leaf Cafe at our centre, which will be open during the Market! ☕

When you order from New Leaf Enterprises’ Christmas Baking Program, the proceeds go towards our programs and services for Nova Scotians living with disabilities, like supported employment, skills development, and workplace training. 💚

Orders will be accepted until Monday, December 1st. To avoid disappointment, place your orders early. A minimum of one week’s notice is required on all orders!

Check out Sam in action in his new role at Sobeys after participating in The Next Step Supported Employment Program! 🌱

Sam Lirette joined The Next Step employment program in March 2025. When Sam began the program, he was extremely determined to strengthen his skills and find employment. He participated in our workshops, which increased his self-esteem and confidence, allowing him to achieve his employment goals. Sam participated in our Culinary Prep Program, which taught him valuable skills needed for working in the food industry.

He has also been strengthening his resume through volunteer opportunities at Mission Thrift and at Camp Tidnish. Sam has a great work ethic and is a very positive young man who enjoys helping others. Sam has recently been employed at Sobeys in Fall River, where he continues to be an excellent employee.
