We are a vibrant social enterprise that specializes in home decor, catering, & business services

New Leaf Enterprises was one of the first social enterprises in Nova Scotia. Our business centre includes a full kitchen operated by our staff and by our trainees. New Leaf offers catering services for businesses and organizations in the Halifax Regional Municipality area, and it allows trainees an opportunity to gain valuable work experience. Our dedicated and professional trainees run a cafeteri

a at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, another at O’Regan’s Automotive Group dealership on Kempt Road and our very own New Leaf Café located at our Centre on Fielding Ave in Burnside. New Leaf Enterprises also offers direct mail processing services for several businesses, in addition to producing beautiful home décor products for retail sale. Services provided by New Leaf Enterprises also generate revenue, which is reinvested into our programs so we can help grow our capacity to help Nova Scotians with disabilities. Our Employment Support Program works with employers in the community and our clients to facilitate job training and subsequent employment within the labour market. This highly successful program for youth and adults has generated multiple employment partnerships both in the private business and government sectors. 🌿🐾 Adventure at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park! 🐾🌿

Thanks to TJ's Driving Service, we were able to take 10 of our New Leaf participants on a fun-filled afternoon trip to Shubenacadie Wildlife Park!

It was a wonderful experience exploring a barrier-free space where everyone could enjoy seeing the animals up close, learning new things, and spending time outdoors with their peers.

We are so grateful for opportunities like this that bring joy, connections, inclusion, and accessibility to our community! 💚

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2nd Annual New Leaf Car Show yesterday - what an incredible day! 🚗✨

We had an amazing lineup, from Mustangs and motorcycles to a Triumph, Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Corvette, and Camaro.

It was a blast welcoming all these incredible vehicles and chatting with their proud owners!

New Leaf participants voted for their favourites, and we're excited to announce the winners: the Father-Daughter Duo - Gwen (Corvette) took 1st place, and Doug (Mustang) came in 2nd! 🏆👨‍👧

Thanks again to everyone who joined us for making it such a memorable event. We can't wait for next year!

We were thrilled to welcome the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia (BIANS) as they hosted their Summer Brain Matters event right here at the Easter Seals Nova Scotia and New Leaf Enterprises Centre!

Our staff and participants were invited to join the fun, and it turned into a wonderful afternoon filled with great conversations, new connections, sweet treats, and refreshing lemonade.

BIANS regularly hosts their Brain Matters gatherings at our New Leaf Café throughout the fall, winter, and spring, and we’re excited to continue this amazing partnership. We’re already looking forward to welcoming them back in September, after their summer break!

Last week, Stephen and Cole, along with other New Leaf staff and program employees, were hard at work packaging individual lunches for local seniors.

In July alone, we prepared, packaged, and delivered 324 lunches to the Dartmouth Seniors Centre. From there, they’re hand-delivered right to the doors of seniors in our community! 🙌 💚

This initiative is made possible thanks to the support of Home Services Funding.

Over the past 12 weeks, fitness instructors from 360Fit have been leading weekly exercise classes for our participants. Focusing on flexibility and movement, participants have enjoyed incorporating more physical activity into their day and even practicing some exercise outside of class time! 💪

We’re grilling up hot dogs for $3, mild Italian sausages for $4, and burgers for $8. (Veggie burgers are available by request.)
