Dr. Belliveau and Halifax Vision Surgical Centre are proud to announce our support of the Apex Impact Foundation with a $10,000 donation towards the construction of an orphanage in Uganda.
The construction of this orphanage upon 5 acres of land will allow 26 children not only grow much of their own food, but also to access continued care through the Apex Impact Foundation and its associate doctors.
The Apex Impact Foundation was founded by Drs Justin and Genille French, and the APEX Group of Companies. This group of philanthropists are committed to improving the quality of life in underprivileged parts of the world via health care, shelter, food, and education. The foundation has also recently provided training to local ophthalmologists in remote Mongolia, thus providing a means of eye care for those without access.
This year’s construction budget for Uganda is $270,000. We at HVSC feel very strongly for this cause. We see how healthcare and vision care can change lives first-hand and know the importance of spreading its accessibility.
