World PT Day is on 8 September every year, and an opportunity for physiotherapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution their profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent.

The day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy community. It is an opportunity to recognise the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community.

This year’s theme is Healthy Aging! Moving though this stage of life does not mean having to give up or do less of what you love. Healthy aging is about staying active, maintaining relationships and doing what you love at any stage of life.

We as physiotherapists at the Dalhousie Physiotherapy Clinic are committed to helping you build the right routine to reach your goals and continue to set new ones!

Recognize these steps from campus?

These steps are in the LeMarchant building and lead up the second floor. Soon, once you hit the top you will have the option to head left to find Student Health and Wellness Center OR head right across the catwalk to what will be our brand new clinic!

Once installation is complete we will share some additional accessibility upgrades! (Hint: 🛗)

For the past three weeks Hailey and Kyle have been working as team physiotherapists for Volleyball Canada's U19 Mens Volleyball Team along side Head Coach Dan Ota (Dalhousie Men's Volleyball Head Coach).

Tomorrow Hailey will be travelling to Tashkent, Uzbekistan with the team to FIVB World Championships as their team physiotherapist.

It has, and continues to be, a wonderful opportunity to engage with upcoming athletes from around the country and collaborate with coaches and other health professionals to build on skill set and experience.
