A wonderful partnership between Nursing Home Without Walls and the recreation teams at Neill and Medley Halls came together last week for a joyful afternoon of music, laughter, and connection.

Elvis impersonator Mike Bravener brought the energy with classic hits, photo opportunities, and themed treats including peanut butter and banana sandwiches, Coca-Cola, and jelly donuts.

It was a simple but powerful reminder of what collaboration can create when communities come together.

Each week at Monarch Hall, residents come together to explore their creativity and try something new through art. Using watercolours and acrylic paints, they experimented with different techniques and mediums while expressing their individual passions and talents. The result is a collection of beautiful artwork that will soon be proudly displayed in their Book Nook for everyone to enjoy.

Nursing Week may have come to a close, but our appreciation continues every day.

The compassion, dedication, and care provided by the nurses at Losier Hall and Bridgeview Hall never stop. Thoughtful snacks from both communities, along with heartfelt cards from the students of Max Aitken Academy, were a meaningful way to show just how valued our nurses are by residents, team members, and the wider community.

There’s never a dull moment at Elk Court when Maintenance Coordinator Kary is around.

Kary keeps the building safe, running smoothly, and in great working order, but he’s also known for bringing joy to residents and team members alike. Through jokes, stories, playful pranks, and even costumes for themed events, Kary goes the extra mile to make people smile. Thank you, Kary, for everything you do to make Elk Court feel like home.

What a wonderful afternoon at Debert Court! Residents, families, and team members came together to enjoy the very first ride on their new Trio Bike Taxi. With sunshine, music, laughter, tasty treats, and homemade punch, the joy was contagious. It was a beautiful day of connection and unforgettable smiles, and they can’t wait for the next ride!

Across our communities, residents celebrated Mother’s Day in meaningful and memorable ways, from sharing the best advice their mothers gave them on monthly advice boards to enjoying ice cream socials, fun hair-coloured streaks, and special gatherings with family, friends, and team members.

These celebrations brought everyone together to recognize and honour the important mother figures in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day!
