Acupuncture is an excellent way to treat Bell’s Palsy! The number one goal is to stimulate the facial and trigeminal nerves. Stimulate facial expression!

What walks in my door day and day out are normal things like low back pain, neck, pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, etc. etc. But I’ve had five Bell’s Palsy patients come in in the last week. Is it just coincidence? Is it viral? Is the universe trying to tell me something? I don’t know. It’s so very interesting.

Getting excellent results. A young lady came in the other day for treatment #3 and was so impressed with the improvement after 1 week (2 appts). She used the word “miracle” 3 or 4 times during her visit. If you know of anyone suffering, get them to an expert in Electro Acupuncture!

What is a fibrotic scar? Very dense, tough collagen resulting from the body trying to heal itself. In this case, a 45yo female is going through this following plastic surgery. Clearly, she has multiple areas of the face to work on. This is the type of situation where you’ll want to start treatment as soon as possible while the scar tissue is soft. Otherwise, as in this case, we need more needles, more often, with more stim to break up the collagen.

Auricular Medicine is no joke.

This patient was dealing with two issues - neck pain due to a car accident and very high stress levels. For each ear I found 1 point that correlated with the cervical spine and 1 point that correlated with emotional support.

The following week, she wanted more and found it “very helpful”.

This patient had 2 primary issues to work on today - stress and hip pain. I used the Pointo Select to find two highly active points. The machine is great because pinpoint precision is paramount. The points that lit up in a major way were the depression point and a hip point on the back of the ear. 10hz/22mins was a very nice treatment. There are a couple of important things to consider when stimulating the ear with electricity:

1) sensory nerves are on the front of the ear (pain) and motor nerves are on the back of the ear (function). In this case, by pushing the needle through we can stimulate both sensory and motor nerves. That’s where #2 comes in…

2) The body is a Hi Q Circuit. This means the body will take the electrical current and use it where it’s needed most. Of course this is just one aspect of a Hi Q Circuit!
