Our eyewear ranges are selected from the finest independent manufacturers, who produce handmade products in small production runs. We are pleased to include SALT., Rolf, Lindberg, ic! berlin, TD Tom Davies, Blake Kuwahara Sunglasses and many more. Ocean Optometry grew out of friendship - the desire of four friends to work together, combining their knowledge, expertise, individualism and experience together in one business. It is sometimes funny how the paths of our lives intertwine; we meet friends and colleagues in different locations and at different times. Sometimes we are fortunate to work alongside these people and at other times we just think it would be great to work with someone. Ocean Optometry has been born out of the idea that wouldn't it be wonderful to take the belief that working together with our friends would be the best way to create the most fabulous optometry office possible. It's not a terribly difficult or clever concept, but it is one we are all really excited about! Together optometrists Dr Euan McGinty and Dr John Wilson, optician Alicia Austin have over 60 years' experience in the optometric and optical world. They have a shared passion for quality and exciting spectacle frames, all care deeply about their work and have a desire to provide a level of service and experience for our patients which is simply unrivalled. It is finally bringing all of this experience, energy and enthusiasm together into one office which will make Ocean Optometry simply the place of vision in Nova Scotia. Along the way, we're going to have fun!

We have decided to delay our opening on Monday until 11:00 am. This gives us time to evaluate the situation better on Monday morning. If we need to make further schedule adjustments we'll update by 10:00.

Don’t let the cold air hurt your eyes!

Take a few winter eye care tips from your friendly eye experts at Ocean Optometry:

1️⃣Drink lots of water and use artificial tears if your eyes are super dry! The dry air (outside and inside!) can break down your natural tear film.

2️⃣Follow the 20-20-20 rule when using screens: Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Shorter winter days = more screen time. Give your eyes the break they need!

3️⃣Use preservative-free eyedrops or swap out your lenses on especially cold or windy days. Cold and wind can leave your contacts feeling stiff and dry!

4️⃣Book an appointment and come in to see our team if you’re dealing with persistent symptoms that don’t seem to get better, no matter what you try! We’re here to help you keep your eyes healthy and your vision clear.
