I have not visited snake in a while due to shoulder challenges . But slow and controlled helps to manage it - here on one red and one blue.
Over time I have come to understand that Pilates exercises build on each other and hence you need to understand one in order to layer up to the next.
Looking at snake you can start to see the flexion , extension happening . The pushing and pulling in of the carriage . The leg integrity and gluts . The scapular stability with the ability to push and pulling.
Think up stretch , long stretch , elephant , swan. There are so many components required . Or you could just do it ( getting the legs up on a high reformer is a task within itself of learning trust) then start to break down the components .
