Stay Connected King's

Stay Connected King's We are peer supporters at King's working as part of the Stay Connected Mental Health Project. Come talk to us if you need a listening ear! to 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Stay Connected Mental Health Project was started by Fred and Elizabeth Fountain following the loss of their son Alex, a King's student, to suicide in 2009. As part of the larger Stay Connected Project, five universities in Halifax are offering a Peer Support program. At King's, Matthew Apostolides and Shannon Stride will be providing one-on-one support to students who are struggling with mental health issues. They will also be organizing events on campus to promote mental health awareness and an open dialogue in the community. If you need someone to talk to, either on a regular or a one-time basis, you are welcome to come to our drop-in hours in the Support Space in the A&A Lobby (the door on the side of the main staircase):

~ Fall Semester Hours: ~
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 5:00-7:00 pm

We will also be running de-stress and self-care programming such as movie nights, arts activities, and de-stress baking, among others.
