’Twas the Night Before Opening Day (Hampton Edition) 🍦🍔
’Twas the night before opening day, and all through the town,
Excitement was buzzing all over Hampton around.
The menus were polished, the counters wiped clean,
All ready for morning at the new Dairy Queen.
The fryers stood silent, the grill cold and bare,
But soon burgers sizzling would fill up the air.
Soft serve machines waited, all swirled up with pride,
Dreaming of cones piled with ice cream inside.
The owners—our neighbors, the folks down the street—
Had worked late together to make it complete.
A small-town adventure, built with hard work and care,
A place for good food and good moments to share.
Outside sat the drive-thru, fresh paved and bright,
Soon cars would be lining up morning till night.
For milkshakes so thick that the straws barely move,
And banana splits loaded with chocolatey groove.
There’d be burgers and chicken, hot fries piled high,
Cool salads for summer when the days wander by.
And cakes made of ice cream for birthdays and cheers,
For Hampton’s big moments in the coming years.
The freezers were humming, the lights softly aglow,
As the team checked the lists one last time before go.
“Tomorrow’s the day!” someone said with delight,
“Let’s open these doors and serve Hampton just right!”
So sleep well tonight, town—tomorrow you’ll say,
“Meet you at DQ… it’s Opening Day!”
