From July 15th, 2020 to September 19th, 2020, Residents in Recovery Society in partnership with the Harvest to Home Catering, Lloydminster Region Health Foundation and #jaydenstory will be hosting a summer-long event to raise funds for their initiatives. This Texas Scramble event will take place throughout the summer months as we are unable to host a tournament with the COVID-19 regulations.
Community members that wish to support this cause can purchase a golf package from one of the hosts (or wherever packages are sold) and book a tee-time. The package includes; two 18-hole golf passes for Lloydminster Golf and Country Club (use any time), cart rental, $50.00 food and beverage gift card (use any time), player gift bag and a $150 charitable tax receipt. Profits will be disbursed between the host organizations.
Participating players will play a round of golf, Texas Scramble style (best ball). Players in the group will all hit their ball and then the team will choose the best ball to hit their next shot from. This will continue until the ball is in the hole. Once the round is complete, the team will hand in their scorecard as prizes will be awarded at the end of the summer for multiple categories. Throughout the summer, there will be special event days where sponsors will be on location for other additional games and prizes. This truly will be a golf event like no other.
In addition to the golf, a silent auction will all take place in the club house. There will be a number of items on display throughout the summer for people to place silent bids on. The highest bidder at the end of the event will claim their prize.
