Have You Ever Surprised Yourself?
I never thought I could do it.
When Scott and I first got married—before kids, before the whirlwind—I had my routine. Our plan was simple: I worked off the farm full-time, and he was 100% committed to being on the farm, I did all my farm duties after work and on weekends. It worked. Life was smooth.
Then our gorgeous boys came along, and we still needed an off-farm income. We didn’t question it—I just kept going. Dropping them at daycare, then school, then racing between hockey, 4-H, and all the things. I still had all my farm jobs, handled the books at midnight, entertained cattle tours, kept the house running, and spoiled my husband. I wore the “Superwoman” cape like a badge of honor.
And I was exhausted.
I was resentful.
I wasn’t in a marriage—I was in an assistant manager’s position.
I was surviving, not living.
I was terrified to leave my job. I thought we wouldn’t make it without my paycheck. My *value* was my paycheck—or so I believed. I spent a pile of money looking for my purpose. I chased side gigs, hoping they would be my way out.
Then, one day, I asked a mentor and holistic healer to teach me everything she knew. She said *no.* Instead, she told me to find what truly lit ME up.
And so, I started searching.
The answer had been right in front of me all along—people and cows. Could I really build a life around my passion?
I took the leap. I walked away from the job that only provided cash and took all my valuable daylight hours.
Eight years later, I’m living a life that *lights me up*—and it pays me well. Most days, it matches the dream I once put on paper.
So, what if my story could inspire YOU?
What if you didn’t just *survive*—but truly *lived*?
What if your gifts could create the life you dream of?
Maybe it’s time to find out. ✨
