I am a Labour & Birth Doula with over 10 years experience serving the Lloydminster area. I only atten In a sense I "mother the mother".

My name is Rhiannon Greening, a mom to 4 wonderful boys and I am a Birth Doula which basically means I offer constant support to a woman in labour. A Doula is a nonmedical person who assists a woman (as well as her partner) before, during, and after childbirth by providing information, physical assistance, and emotional support. Having a Doula can help the mother have a more satisfying birth Experience.

For most important events in life, we have no problem planning and spending to celebrate and have the best experience we can- and that’s amazing, nothing wrong with that! But when it comes to prenatal education, people are hesitant to spend money on what could arguably be one of the most life-changing times we go through. With everything we have to spend money on (car seat, crib, clothes, diapers, and on and on and on) it’s no doubt that the idea of spending a little more on a prenatal class sometimes takes a backseat.

So why invest in prenatal education?

🤰learn the basics of what will actually happen during labour and birth (spoiler, it’s not like the movies and TV)
🤰prepare you and your partner for possible scenarios that may play out during labour
🤰find out what comfort techniques and different positions can be done at different times (before, during and after birth)
🤰one of the most IMPORTANT things I personally went through and learned after having my 4th baby; what happens in your labour and birth may have a huge impact on the risk of developing Postpartum Depression or PTSD.

There are many more reasons why prenatal education is worth investing in, the amount of times I have heard from moms, “I wish I had know that before” is astounding.

Sorry to anyone who has reached out and I did not respond to. I appreciate the time taken to send an inquiry and know how frustrating it can be to not hear a response.

That said, I am pretty booked right now and won’t be able to take on any new clients (unless I have responded differently to you). But I have exciting news coming soon so stay tuned!💚

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the amazing birth of a beautiful little girl! Amazing job by mom and dad- so proud of you guys!💚

I don’t get as many opportunities to attend births as I used to, at this moment I am at a crossroad with what to do… if there was enough interest in doula services to make it a full time gig then that would be amazing. At the same time, how long until I would burn out from it(which happened a few years back). I miss it and cherish that work so much but what is realistic?

Regardless of what the future holds, I am so grateful to have reached my 12th year as a doula! As I see “my babies” growing and getting older, I am always amazed that I had the honour of being a part of their stories.
