Expressive Arts Therapy belongs to the tradition of humanistic psychology. Our authentic presence, empathy and unconditional positive regard pave the way for play and creativity. Within the liminal space of art-making, old patterns and habits are disrupted and broken. Out of this chaos, new forms take shape. It is an alchemical process fueled by wonder and imagination. We call this act poiesis.
