December 6th marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

CHIGAMIK will be attending the annual Vigil hosted by La Maison Rosewood Shelter to honour the women and children whose lives have been taken by gender-based violence.

For more than 40 years, Huronia Transition Homes has been a strong advocate for ending violence against all women and children. This day is an important time for our community to come together, reflect, remember, and recommit to meaningful action.

🕯 Vigil Details

📍 Operation Grow, 436 Bay Street, Midland

For those interested in attending, please email Hannah Thiessen at hthiessen@rosewood.on.ca.

Today, we honour the courageous Indigenous veterans who have served and sacrificed for Canada. Indigenous Veterans Day is a moment to recognize the many contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people to Canada’s war efforts and peacekeeping missions. Let us remember their bravery and acknowledge the unique challenges they faced both in service and after returning home.
