Our next Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is starting in September - Tuesdays 5:30p-8p at 847 Vindin Street, in Midland. MBSR can be a helpful program for those living with anxiety or depression, with chronic pain, other stress-related conditions including migraine headaches, IBS, and insomnia, or who are just seeking to learn how to better cope with stress in this stressful world we all live in. Ten years ago, Rochester,NY NPR WXXI radio host had me on his show Connections to talk about the reasons behind my upcoming move as a family physician to Ontario, Canada. Being proud of a streak is antithetical to pretty much everything I am cultivating in my meditation practice - non-striving, non-judgement, acceptance, etc, etc. But still the days strung together into the streak of days of meditation (for me at least 20 min on my cushion). Meditation effects not only my state (helps me feel more grounded and at ease in my life) but also my traits (that one takes longer of course, but a tiny bit less reactive over the years). And now I’m heading into 5 days of silence at Sugar Ridge, a time to renew for the New Year. Grateful for this all. 🧘‍♀️

Meditate - Activate - Celebrate! I’m just coming out of three days in retreat with the Consciousness Explorers Club - there was time for silence, for meditation, for open authentic connection, for exploring, for laughter, for fun! (Meditation Dance Party! Bonfire!) It is the people that make this community and this retreat so special, and I don’t have pics of people to share, so I share only images of the beautiful space we shared for 3 days.
