FALL 2025 IMMUNIZATION UPDATE (FLU and COVID SHOTS)

Monday November 24 will be our last walk-in clinic at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre for this year. It will take place from 12pm to 4pm in the Bill Thompson Room. People are eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination this fall if it has been at least 3 months since their last Covid-19 vaccination or active Covid-19 infection.

Going forward, we will be providing flu and Covid-19 shots at the store (286 King Street) by both booked appointments AND walk-ins (no appointment needed). Appointments can be booked online at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule.

IN-STORE Walk-ins will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday November 26 11am to 3pm
Wednesday December 3 11am to 3pm
Wednesday December 10 11am to 3pm
Wednesday December 17 11am to 3pm

Dates beyond these will be posted at a later date.

Covid-19 and Flu shots are now available. In store shots are by appointment only and can be booked online at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule

We are also holding walk-in clinics (no appointment needed) at the North Simcoe Recreation Centre inside the Bill Thompson room. These clinics will start on Monday October 27 and continue every Monday in November. Walk-in clinics will run from 12pm to 4pm.

If you choose the walk-in option we recommend picking up the consent forms beforehand either at Arcade and Jory Guardian Pharmacy or the Askennonia Senior Centre.

We have received our first shipment of FLU SHOTS.

In-store appointments for FLU SHOTS as well as COVID-19 vaccinations can be made online at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule. Additional appointment dates will continue to be added as we receive more vaccine.

We will also be holding walk-in clinics (no appointment needed) for FLU SHOTS and COVID-19 vaccinations at the Askennonia Senior Centre inside the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre in Midland. These clinics will take place on:

We expect flu shots to arrive in the next week or two. You can pre-register for the FLU SHOT using the same weblink above. You will be sent an email when we receive the FLU shot.

We expect the PFIZER Covid-19 vaccine and FLU SHOTS to arrive before end of October. You can pre-register for the PFIZER vaccine and FLU SHOTS using the same weblink above. You will be sent an email when we receive the PFIZER vaccine and FLU shots.

We will also be holding walk-in clinics (no appointment needed) at the Askennonia Senior Centre inside the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre in Midland. These clinics will take place on:

We are now providing walk-in vaccinations (no appointment needed) for both Covid-19 and flu shots.

We are also still providing vaccinations by booked appointment. Appointments can be made online at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule. Where possible, we encourage people to book an appointment since you will receive your vaccination at your designated appointment time. Depending how busy we are, there may be a wait if you choose to do a walk-in.

Walk-ins will be provided Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am until 2pm. If you choose to do a walk-in, please arrive at the pharmacy with your consent forms already filled out since we have very limited space inside the pharmacy for people to fill out the forms. Consent forms are available at:

- Askennonia Senior Centre
- Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit (Midland Branch)

We are now booking appointments for the flu shot. Appointments can be made online at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule. More appointment dates will be added as our supply increases. Please remember to wear a mask and a short sleeve shirt to your appointment.

We will also be providing walk-in flu shots with no appointment needed at the Askennonia Senior Centre inside the Midland Recreation Centre starting Monday October 30th and continuing every Monday throughout November. Walk-in clinic hours will be from 11am to 3pm. If you attend one of these walk-in clinics, please pick up a consent form before hand either at the Senior Centre or at the pharmacy.

We have not received Covid-19 shots yet. If you already signed up to receive e-mail updates about Covid-19 shots, we will send you an e-mail when we start booking appointments for them. If you have not signed up for Covid-19 vaccine updates but would like to, you can do so using the same weblink as above.

VACCINATION UPDATE:

FLU SHOTS:
The Ministry of Health will be launching their annual flu shot campaign towards the end of October. For e-mail updates regarding when we will be accepting flu shot appointments, please sign up at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule.

COVID-19 VACCINE:
Health Canada has approved the new, updated Omicron XBB targeted MODERNA Covid-19 vaccine. They are also reviewing submissions from PFIZER-BIONTECH seeking authorization of their new COVID-19 vaccine. We are not sure when we will be receiving either one of these but hope to sometime in October. For e-mail updates regarding when we will be accepting Covid-19 vaccine appointments, please sign up at: arcade.medmeapp.ca/schedule.

RSV VACCINE:
The RSV vaccine will only be available to those living in long-term care homes, Elder Care Lodges, and for some retirement home residents

The Ministry of Health has launched a spring Covid-19 vaccine booster program and are recommending that people 65 years of age or older receive a spring booster shot as long as 24 weeks (168 days) has passed since the last booster shot or Covid-19 infection.
