Notre Histoire / Our Story
Today Kane & Fetterly is still locally owned and operated by the husband & wife team Bridget Fetterly and Paolo Bassi.
Kane & Fetterly was founded in 1965 by Gary Fetterly, a young entrepreneur who took over the Kane Funeral Home from the previous owner Thomas Kane. Well aware of the excellent reputation that Kane had established over many years, and fully committed to continuing that high level of service to the community, Fetterly simply added his own name to the company. And so, though Kane and Fetterly never actually worked together, the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home was born.
Though young, Mr. Fetterly had thorough understanding of the business through his own father, Hugh, who had owned two funeral homes in the Montreal area.
Today Kane & Fetterly is still locally owned and operated by the wife-and-husband team Bridget Fetterly and Paolo Bassi.
“My father built this business by offering exceptional service on a very wholesome level,” explains Bridget Fetterly. “We continue this mission by guiding people through one of life’s most difficult times with the very best in expertise and loving hand-holding support. When our funeral counselors help families to plan for a traditional or contemporary funeral service, families are free to choose only those services that are meaningful to them and within their financial means. You will never experience pressure.”
