Research Spotlight đź©»
Mabee and colleagues found that adding one simple extra X‑ray view helped doctors better tell whether a foreign object had gone into the bone. This extra image was quick and easy for technologists to take, fit smoothly into regular workflow, and made radiologists more confident in their decisions. A small, low‑cost change that made a big difference in patient care.

Running with the World Radiotherapy Day Spotlight theme...

🔥 HARD TRUTH: standard skin toxicity scoring was never built for everyone.
This JMIRS commentary calls out how patients with darker skin tones get left behind in assessment tools. That’s not innovation, that’s inequality. As radiology advances with AI and innovation, let’s ensure fairness and representation are part of the future we build. Every skin tone. Every patient. Every time.

In line with World Radiotherapy Awareness Day, we’re reminded that healing goes beyond tumours and treatment plans. 💔 Cancer changes more than the body. It reshapes identity, body image, intimacy, relationships. 💬 Yet too often, conversations about sexual health in radiation therapy never happen.

This JMIRS pilot study challenges that silence..."Relationships, body image, and intimacy: A pilot to increase sexual health conversations between radiation therapists and cancer patients in Ontario".
