This Sunday is World Radiotherapy Awareness Day! 🌍✨

Did you know that World Radiotherapy Awareness Day is celebrated on September 7 because on this day in 1953, the very first patient was treated with a linear accelerator? That innovation changed cancer treatment forever. 💡

Today, radiotherapy (or radiation therapy) continues to make a difference...helping cure cancers, improve quality of life, and extend survival for patients around the world.

Our Guest Editors, Cynthia Eccles (United Kingdom) and Johnathan Hewis (Australia) welcome translational research in any of our formats exploring advancements and challenges in MRI technology, clinical applications, and patient outcomes. Potential topics include emerging MRI techniques and sequences, artificial intelligence in MRI interpretation, MRI safety considerations, communication and patient education, functional and diffusion-weighted imaging, contrast agent innovations, patient perspectives, and working with specialized populations. We also encourage submissions related to advancements and new professional pathways in all aspects of MRI-guided radiotherapy (MRIgRT).
