We are excited to add Susan to our team of excellent health providers.
Originally from Switzerland, Susan’s journey has taken her across the globe—living and working in the U.S., Argentina, the U.K., and now calling Ottawa home. With a background in nursing from the University of Brighton and experience in surgical, medical, gynecological, and palliative care, Susan brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to her practice. Her own family’s experience with food intolerances inspired her to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2016. Susan understands firsthand the challenges of feeding a busy family and believes that eating well shouldn’t mean spending hours in the kitchen every day.
As a wife, entrepreneur, and mother to two young adults, Susan’s home is always bustling—with two dogs, a cat, and plenty of music filling the air. She loves the relationships she builds with her clients, helping them unravel the unique connections between food, lifestyle, and wellbeing. Susan is passionate about empowering others to address common issues like digestive discomfort, IBS, high cholesterol and high blood sugars, with simple, sustainable changes. She believes that everyone’s health journey is unique and is dedicated to helping clients piece together their own health puzzle.

Novel Health @ Manotick. Our sign is up at 5556 Main st. Manotick. We are happy to be part of this vibrant community. Dr. Salman is working at the Manotick location on Mondays and Wednesdays. We aren’t accepting new patients but have excited news to share on the coming weeks.

Spent a valuable afternoon with my team at Novel Health, engaging in a powerful workshop led by Faron Smith from the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ottawa Branch. We dove into empathic strain and explored actionable strategies for thriving in the workplace. Key takeaways:

✅ We often place unrealistic expectations on ourselves in healthcare, constantly saying "we should."

✅ We tend to overlook self-care until our to-do lists are cleared.

✅ True self-care sometimes means making tough decisions, like setting clear boundaries.

✅ The PERMA model is an excellent framework for fostering well-being and ensuring we’re not only effective professionals but also positive contributors to our teams and communities.

This session reinforced the importance of leading with emotional intelligence and prioritizing personal well-being for sustainable success. Let’s continue the conversation—how are you prioritizing mental well-being in your workplace? Share your insights!

The Ottawa Cancer Foundation is hosting a Breakfast Fundraising event at The Westin on Wednesday June 12th at 7am (in beautiful room Twenty Two). I am proud to emcee this important event for our city. I would be honoured if you would join me as my guest – pls see attached invite. All of us have been touched by cancer whether personally, in our practices and our communities. I would love to have you in the room so that we can showcase how the Community Cancer Hub is helping those impacted by cancer and also helps us as the caregivers. The focus of Breakfast will be on Cancer System Navigation, Mental & Physical Health, and Children and Youth programs. Although there is no cost to attend, we hope that you might consider making a donation. So, please join us, come learn and be inspired.

At Novel Health, our patients and our community are very important to us. That’s why we’re collaborating with Vitality Physiotherapy and Susan Anderson Yoga to provide you with an opportunity to begin to explore and experience simple and effective techniques for overcoming stress and finding calm. Life is stressful and there are many things going on in this world that add to this stress. We also know that chronic stress isn’t good for our bodies and minds and can contribute to the development of chronic diseases.

Let’s start the New Year off with a focus on improving our health through stress management and building resilient nervous systems! Join me at Vitality Physiotherapy 4184 Spratt Road, Unit 3, on Saturday, January 13th, from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. An investment in your health and wellness of $25 is required.
