❗New Blog❗

🌼Ever feel bad for staying inside when the weather’s beautiful?

⏰Like you’re “wasting the day” if you’re not out hiking, socializing, or sitting on a patio? 🚴‍♀️

🌞That’s sunshine guilt, when external pressure to “make the most” of good weather overrides your internal needs for rest or alone time.

In this blog post, we’re breaking down:
☀️ What sunshine guilt is
💬 Why it shows up
🧠 How it ties into productivity culture
🫶 And why rest is still valid, even on a sunny day

You are allowed to listen to your body, even in the summer months. 🌻

💛 Tap through the slides to learn more, check out the link to our blog on our story/bio, and share with a friend who needs this reminder today.

🌤 Still feeling torn between rest and guilt? Therapy can help you rewrite the internal rules you’ve inherited.

🌿 Let’s work on it together. Click the link in our bio to book a free consultation with one of our therapists, or email us at 💌hello@cultivatemh.ca.

🌱Kathy Josiah, Administrative Assistant & Psychology Student

📚Kathy is currently in her fifth and final year of undergraduate studies in Psychology. She is also our casual administrative assistant, helping out with social media, blog posts, emails, office upkeep, and more!

💡She is completing an honors thesis exploring the link between mindset and responses to racial microaggressions, with broader research interests in mental health within racialized communities. She brings a thoughtful, compassionate presence to the practice, grounded in her core values of open-mindedness, genuineness, and acceptance. Her long-term goal is to pursue a Master’s in Counselling and become a couples therapist, where she hopes to help people build stronger, more connected relationships.

🖋"I believe that growth happens when we feel seen, safe, and supported—both by others and by ourselves. Real change takes root in spaces where people are allowed to be fully human, without judgment or pretense. That’s the kind of space I hope to help create."

🌿 What is trauma-informed therapy — and how is it different from regular therapy?

Whether you’ve experienced trauma or not, a trauma-informed approach can make a big difference in how safe, supported, and empowered you feel in therapy.

This post breaks down what trauma-informed therapy is, the core principles behind it, and what you might expect in session. 🧠💛

At its heart, it’s about seeing the whole person, not just the symptoms, and creating a space where healing feels possible.

🪷 If this sounds like the kind of care you’re looking for, we’d love to support you.
