A gentle Sunday reminder. 🤍 Let’s start a fresh week regulated with these affirmations. Did you know practicing the “I am safe” affirmation helps to regulate your nervous system out of fight-or-flight? When our nervous system detects threat (even modern day stressors are seen as a threat), our body responds somatically through muscle tension, heart palpitations and more. By reminding ourselves that we are SAFE, especially paired with slow breathing, we deactivate the fight-or-flight and get our bodies back to a regulated state.

We asked Danielle what helps her maintain a Blissful Balance and she said: Listening to Soca music- which is music of my homeland. It keeps me regulated. The lyrics often refer to soca as being life giving, energizing and healing. The story telling combined with the upbeat melodies that encourage movement, keeps me grounded and nurtures my soul. 🇹🇹
