💔 There is grief in accepting someone won’t change.

It’s not just about letting go of a person. It’s about grieving the hope you held… the version of them you wished they could become… the conversations you dreamed of having… the relationship you tried so hard to build.

Accepting that someone may never see things the way you do — may never grow in the way you hoped — can feel like loss. Because in many ways, it is.

But choosing acceptance over fantasy is one of the most freeing acts of self-care.

Honor your grief. Make space for your disappointment. And then, reclaim your peace.

We believe Wab Kinew is so cool! 😎

On a serious note, he inspires us to do better—and to reflect on what it truly means to center Indigenous voices across all domains.

At our practice, we are actively learning and unlearning each day to better serve our Indigenous clients. Culturally responsive, intergenerational trauma-informed, and anti-colonial practice is the backbone of our services for Indigenous children, youth, and families.

If you require NIHB-covered psychotherapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

So many of us at ITC are inspired by EFT and practice it with couples and families day in and day out. Dr. Sue Johnson’s work has transformed how many clinicians approach therapy today. Emotions are at the heart of our relationships and attachment bonds. If you’re interested in exploring how EFT can support your relationship, please contact our clinic—we’d be happy to connect with you. 💜

Today marks one year since the passing of Dr. Sue Johnson — founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy, visionary, mentor, and beloved member of our community. Her legacy continues to shape and inspire the work of thousands around the world.

In honour of Sue, we’ve created a special commemorative edition of the ICEEFT newsletter, filled with reflections, memories, and tributes from colleagues and friends across the globe. This extended issue spans 54 pages and stands as a heartfelt celebration of the impact she made — and continues to make.

The commemorative newsletter will be shared exclusively with ICEEFT members this week.

Rage, Rest, Resist: A Therapy Group for Collective Healing in Turbulent Times ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼

In these challenging and turbulent times, it’s important to have a space to process the emotions we’re carrying and find support.

Join us for a free in-person therapy group led by experienced POC clinician Bruno Jung-Millen, MSW, RSW. In this group, we will explore the feelings stirred by the turbulent political climate, the rage we feel, the need to rest, and how we can build the strength to resist again tomorrow.

This group offers a safe and compassionate space for guided therapeutic conversations, helping us heal together and find resilience in the face of uncertainty.

🗓️ When: Sunday, March 2nd or 23rd at noon (2hrs)
📍 Where: 436 MacLaren St., Suite 200, Ottawa
💰 Cost: Free (giving back to the community!)
