We enjoyed a wonderful Scottish Day filled with tradition, culture, and community. The day featured a Scottish whisky tasting, followed by a traditional dinner of haggis, neeps, and tatties. Our haggis was proudly piped in by a bagpiper, while two of our amazing residents took part in reading the Address to a Haggis, making the moment extra special and meaningful.

Later in the evening, residents were delighted by a lively performance from Scottish dancers. Many residents joined in the celebration by wearing tartan, showing their appreciation and respect for Scottish heritage. It was a joyful day honouring Scottish culture, traditions, and the wonderful stories shared within our residence. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

📚 Our January Book Club featured a Book and Movie Duo: "Me Before You". A wonderful novel paired with a very well-loved film. Book Club members enjoyed lively discussion over delicious Chinese food, sharing thoughts, reflections, and favourite moments from the story before settling in to watch the movie together.

It’s that time of year when we dust off our crystal ball and see who predicted the future best! On Tuesday, January 27 at 3:00 p.m., residents gathered in the theatre to reveal the 2025 Crystal Ball Results. Tony presented the prediction outcomes and announced the winners, and there were some very impressive forecasts this year!

Participants made predictions across 25 questions covering economy, sports, politics, and general events. This annual tradition is open to all Carp Commons residents and staff, and Tony keeps everyone engaged with quarterly prediction updates shared in our monthly newsletter. 🔮 What will happen in 2026? Predictions are already underway, stay tuned to see who will outsmart the crystal ball next year!
