Unsure about working with a sleep consultant? 5 misconceptions below šŸ‘‡

Posted • We're here to debunk some of the most common misconceptions when it comes to hiring a sleep consultant!

ā–«ļø Myth #1 - It disrupts the bond between you and your baby. A good sleep consultant knows how important the bond between you and your child is and will do everything they can to support that bond. With sleep training, both you and your baby will get more quality sleep which will actually strengthen your bond!

ā–«ļø Myth #2- Consultants will use a "one rule fits all" method. At , our sleep consultants take into consideration your personal goals and they will craft a customized plan that will truly work for your child.

ā–«ļø Myth #3 - They stay overnight in your home. This is an option, however, it is not a mandatory method in order for our sleep training program to work for you. You can find great success in our methods without having your sleep consultant stay over.

ā–«ļø Myth #4 - There is an age limit to start sleep training. All programs for sleep training differ, and there is no right or wrong time to start sleep training your child. At the end of the day, it depends on your needs and lifestyle.

ā–«ļø Myth #5 - It's not budget-friendly. This may be the biggest misconception and the idea of spending money on sleep training may deter parents. It is possible to find a sleep trainer that is willing to work with your budget!

ā€œHave you heard of the WeeSleep Tired Families Initiative?

From now until the end of the year, a percentage of every sleep package sold will go towards two special charities chosen by our team – one of which is .

Mamas for Mamas supports mothers and caregivers in crisis by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles.

If your little one has been struggling with sleep and you've debated purchasing one of our sleep packages, NOW is the time! By purchasing a sleep package, you will not only benefit by getting the sleep you need but you’ll also be helping other mamas in need.

We're so grateful for the positive impact this initiative will have. šŸ¤

Head to our website today and choose a sleep package that best suits your needs.ā€

Okay LAST 5 minutes! (round 2, 3, 4, at times even 5!)
Ā
āœ‹ if you’ve been there, done that! It’s all good and fun until the walk/ride home is a struggle. And that ends up impacting the next activity which usually is a snack or mealtime that then turns into a complete meltdown. Been there, done that!
Ā
When they’re having so much fun it’s so hard to stick to the plan and be back home on time. And then most often snowballs into a challenging nap or bedtime! If your little one is a perfect sleeper, well then you’re a lucky parent! Otherwise, managing your little one’s energy and limits is essential in order to avoid lots of big emotions as they get close to nap or bedtime.
Ā
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Is your little one’s sleep agitated?
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  is it challenging for them to fall asleep?
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  are they waking up from a short nap?
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  do they experience multiple nightwakings?
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  do they wake up too early in the morning?
Ā
Are they perhaps going to sleep overtired? Next time you experience these challenges, take a closer look at your little one’s energy level 5, 10, and 15 minutes before you attempted to put them to sleep.

With the flu season starting early this year these tips will help you manage your little one’s sleep ā¤ļø (pssst some of these tips also work for adults!)

When working with families to sleep train/coach sometimes I get asked if we need to pause the program or delay the start. It’s a case by case scenario dependent on many factors but one thing for sure your little ones wellness and your comfort and reassurance are highest priority.

Stay healthy and safe everyone ā¤ļø

Baby it’s cold outside… and that means dry, itchy skin! In my quest to find ways to better hydrate from the inside out (yes, other than drinking more water!) I found this recent publication that looked at the link between sleep duration and hydration in 20,000 people! (links in bio).

CONCLUSION: those who slept less than 8 hours were associated with a higher rate of dehydration.

Pls note: this was an observational study but looking at what happens during sleep there are physiological evidence that can support this.

Solutions:
1) When was the last time you checked on your healthy sleep hygiene?
•Get the restful sleep you need
•Check your environment for distractions and disrupters (lights, sounds, phone)
•Create or refresh your personal bedtime routine
2) Sip on hydrating fluids throughout the day (water, milk) while controlling the amount of dehydrating fluids especially closer to bedtime (coffee, alcohol)
3) Eat a healthy balance of fruits and veggies
4) Avoid salty snack and sugary treats in excess
