🙌We’ve got some new characters in the office to help with identifying feelings, and showing how we feel when words are too hard!

✨ There’s something so powerful about creating a world in the sand. Each tiny figure, animal, and tree finds its place — and somehow, we find ours too. 💛

Sandtray therapy offers a gentle, creative space to express what words can’t always reach. Through play and imagination, we explore emotions, discover meaning, and begin to heal — one story, one scene, one scoop of sand at a time. 🌈

Because play isn’t just for kids. It’s for the parts of us that still need to be seen, heard, and held with care. 🌿

🧃Diabetes and mental health is so important! Often we think of diabetes as a physical condition only, but that’s missing half the story. Did you know that it can take 45mins for a person with diabetes (PWD) to recover from a low blood sugar? That’s 45min where our body feels blah, and our cognition is not at top notch. Ask me have a conversation during this time? No thanks. Play a sport? Clean the house? Do homework? No thank-you🙃 I need to chill on the couch.

When a PWD is first diagnosed (and sometimes long after 🙋‍♀️) it takes time to learn how each persons body and brain responds to highs and lows. And it changes!

With this art activity, I help PWD learn how their body feels lows and highs and how they can let those who love them know how we respond individually to get the support and care we need! We learn about the body sensations, emotions, thoughts, etc. that happen. Learning about our bodies and brains and how blood sugar impacts us can help improve mental health and the mental load that diabetes takes day to day ❤️

🙋‍♀️These picture cutouts were created by me and are how my body responds, everyone’s body responds differently.

*This is not medical advice, please consult your medical team for any questions about diabetes management*
