Rideauwood is proud to support Ottawa’s Black Mental Health Week 2026, led by the Ottawa Black Mental Health Coalition

The week begins with a full-day conference on Monday, March 2, 2026, followed by activities online and across the city. This year’s focus includes substance use, su***de, and mental health, with space for open dialogue, learning, and connection to culturally-affirming resources.

Black communities continue to face unique challenges, including racism, systemic barriers to care, historical trauma, and stigma around mental health and substance use. Events like this help strengthen families, build resilience, and move us toward care that is responsive and community-led.

The conference features keynotes, panels, workshops, and training sessions.
All events are free and open to the public, with registration required.
Sessions are available in English and French.

We encourage our partners, families, and community members to attend and connect.

A message from our friends at The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health

Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health is growing—and so is our care. We’ve welcomed a new physician, a part-time Nurse Practitioner, an RN, a Social Worker, and Medical Records support, and we’re building our outreach team to better serve community.
If you are Indigenous and looking for a medical clinic grounded in holistic, culturally safe care, we invite you to join Wabano’s clinic.. If you don’t currently have a medical provider, we’re here and ready to support you on your wellness journey. If you would like to transfer to Wabano we can help you as well.

Worry can become a constant companion for parents and caregivers supporting a loved one with substance use challenges.

Sleepless nights. Fear. Searching for answers. Trying everything, and still feeling helpless.

Rideauwood’s Family and Parent Program exists because addiction does not affect just one person. It affects entire families. This program offers space, understanding, and support for those who are carrying this heavy emotional load.

As this Rideauwood alum shared, participation did not change everything overnight, but it helped move both parent and child to a better place.

Recovery doesn’t look the same for everyone, and it shouldn’t have to.

At Rideauwood, we believe people deserve choice, dignity, and compassionate support as they navigate problematic substance use, behavioural addictions, and mental health challenges.

For nearly 50 years, we’ve been walking alongside youth, adults, and families in Ottawa creating a safe, respectful space where people can explore what recovery means for them.
