The name Maps to Healing was inspired by a therapeutic technique by Deb Dana (the nervous system mapping). It is a kind of a map (hence the name) to our body’s responses to stress, anxiety, trauma and joy. I truly believe our awareness of our responses is such an important factor in living a life that aligns closer to our values and hopes for our lives.

I never intended for Maps to Healing to be just a place for me. It was about creating a safe and welcoming space for other therapists and their clients, to thrive in their own work.

I’m beyond grateful that MTH has become a sanctuary for healing, growth, and transformation, not only for my clients but for the incredible therapists who share their work here. It fills me with so much pride to see MTH evolve into a community of support, trust, and compassion.

Maps to Healing started just a month before the COVID lockdowns took place. I had ONE in-person session before everything shut down. I quickly made the change to see clients virtually, and we ALL had to adjust to a different way of living for some time. I am grateful it allowed clients all over Ontario to seek therapy, and I am also so grateful to have my part-time permanent office. I love seeing clients in person.

I really never anticipated that I would be a business owner, let alone navigating a whole pandemic in the midst of it. There have been so many moments of learning about the ins and outs of running a business, but truly my favourite part is seeing clients.

I am grateful I do not do it alone anymore, I have three amazing part time associates, a wonderful virtual assistant and a very creative social media manager.

5 years! t's been 5 years of growth, healing, and transformation! Thank you to all of my incredible clients for trusting me to be a part of your journey. I can't wait to see how clients, the business, and me professionally will do!

Bill C-59 has received Royal Assent, which means we no longer are required to charge HST or GST on payments for our services!

That means psychotherapy just got cheaper for everyone!
