Truth and Reconciliation Day honours the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the painful history that continues to impact their families and communities. Dynacare understands the importance of listening and recognizing the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples affected by the injustices of the past.
Through internal educational sessions and discussions, we continue to learn from our Indigenous colleagues who share the memories that have endured in their families. The symbolism of Orange Shirt Day and that Every Child Matters helps us to reflect on the culture, identity, family, and childhood that were taken from Indigenous children. We recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and Dynacare is dedicated to creating a safe space to come together to face history honestly with humility and compassion.
